So sad to hear. I had heard rumors about him having cancer but hoped it was not him. I was very fortunate to have spent time with him. One of the most sweet, sexy guys I ever met. First time I met him, I had him out to my house for weekend in California. He was quite the gymnast and I have him on video doing a back flip in my living room. He was quite easy going about me filming him on camera The next time we met was for a week in Manhattan(we went to 8 Broadway shows in 6 days) Final time was for a 5 day trip to Orlando. We got along great and I was always puzzled why he seemed to fall off the radar. I guess I know now that he was in a battle. Even though I have not seen Carey for over 3 years, I feel like I lost a friend. :(

You were so lucky to have met him. He looks like an angel. He seemed to have a loving family from a small Southern town. I wish I had met him. Rueful.

I've asked the moderators to remove the link to the obituary because it reveals his real name. I'm not sure if his family was aware of this part of his life, but if they're not. I would hate for them to stumble across it.

For reasons I can't remember, I never met him while he was in NC, and he left NC for Texas, I believe. I regret that. By all accounts, he was someone worth knowing.

A few years back, I had shared several emails with him. I had hoped to finally get to meet him, but he feel off the radar. I am so sorry, I now know the reason was for his battle with brain cancer.

From time to time when I was in his area, I wondered why those correspondences stopped. Such a loss of a young person with so much life ahead of him.

Ah, me. . .yet another golden lad gone to dust. Your notice brought to mind that yesterday was the anniversary of the long ago death of Rommel Hunt who enjoyed celebrity as "Steve Fox".

Aaahhh yes Steve Fox.......was shocked at his passing so many years ago, and so young. Such a gorgeous man.

He was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, the most common and agressive malignant form of brain tumor, the same form from which Senator Kennedy suffered, in 2010; the malady is rarely seen in people of his age. Fortunately, he had a family which was devoted to him and his care, and, he was able to return home from Texas in 2011.

Hey Robber. It sounds like you had communication with him? Do you know when he was diagnosed? His last communication with me was in December 2010 and he talked about us getting together with no mention of being sick?

That information is from a newspaper article that profiled WC and his mother and the care and devotion she gave him. According to the article he was diagnosed on New Year's Eve 2010...so apparently soon after your last communication with him.

Just spent some time reading WC's mother's journal recapping his fight over the last few months of his life. It is just such a terribly sad story. I did not even recognize the pictures taken of him in the last few months. It just shows what a hideous disease cancer can be.
