I volunteer at a place where major construction is going on and there is a set of identical twins, electrical workers, who I see quite often. It took several sightings before I realised there were two of them--by chance seeing them together. They are naturally well-built and good looking in a blue-collar, non-metro-sexual way. Cut to the chase? They appeal to me. We exchange greetings, a little small talk and I enjoy the "eye candy." Since they work together, live together at twenty five+ I wonder what else they share---sex partners? Pretty sure they are straight, and even if they were bi or gay, they are way too young for me.

Major question: What do readers think about identical twins and sex--and I stress identical, not fraternal:

1. With each other.

2. Together with a third party

3. Are both usually straight or gay or can one be one thing, the other something else

 

And if anyone has personal experience with twins or is a twin himself, that would be very welcome.

Interesting question Samai. Many years ago was very good friends with identical twins. Both hot, hunky, beef and sexy as all get out. We did a lot of river trips together and water skiing. They were gorgeous in their little swim suits. That being said, they were very straight, never ever shared partners, and except for the gf's were almost inseparable socially. They were in their late twenty's and had bought a house together. They had a younger brother and older sister, but there clearly was not the same sibling connection as there was with the twins. There are two sets of identical twins in my family, and my experience has been that it is not unusual for identical twins to remain close as they age. I have noticed an unusual bond between them.

 

I don't think that there are any set rules with twins. I would imagine that their sexuality would not be based on them being identical twins. Other members might have some solid data on this, and it would be interesting to hear from them. I would like to know also.

I occasionally have come cross identical twins who are extremely handsome and sexy, but the majority are also very straight.

 

I am fascinated, nonetheless, perhaps by the "forbidden fruit" appeal to do a 3-way with identical twins, but as we know in the porn world often one may be mostly gay, and the other is more bisexual, of not simply gay-for-pay and willing to go just so far with the twin to make some money. There is very limited research on the subject, but given truly identical makeup, that is split from the orignal cell creating them, it would be difficult for them to be truly different in their sexual preferences. I have known (not in the biblical sense) several sets of idential twins, both male and female. You sometimes see twins that are "mirror" images of each other... ie, one is left handed and the other is right handed. I have known idential twin girsl who have married idential twin men, and that is a most interesting situation to watch.

Diverdan: Thanks for your informed response. It affirms my belief that truly identical twins should have identical sexual preferences. If identical twins, raised in the same household/environment, had two sexual identities---one gay and one straight--it would give those who think homosexuality is a "learned" trait more fuel for their views.

I want to do some more digging into studies of identical twins and see what is availalbe. Any suggestions?

I had never read this (but when I studied psychology and social sciences, these questions would not really have been asked..) This makes for an interesting scenario as I mentioned in another area seeing guys who are identical twins and one is very sexually gay and active, the other more reticent, and people would say, "Oh he is straight!" or "He is bisexual, while the other is gay." I always found those throw away lines a bit suspicious, but wonder why we still rarely find identical twins in porn, and even when we do, they rarely interact or perform together on each other.
