Now playing off-Broadway, and extended an extra week, at the Keen Theater on 42nd St, this is a enjoyable musical review of Sondheim songs cut from the original productions.

Since I am rushed for time in order to get up to Studio54 Below's Sondheim Unplugged later this afternoon, I'll paste the Playbill.com story of the show.

Two actors and pianist. Bother a capable singers. Jason Tam has an exceptionally handsome persona. (OK, it's didn't hurt that he strips down to a pair of black boxer briefs and changes into a pair of pj pants and walks around without his shirt!!!)

It was an enjoyable evening of rarely performed Sonheim songs, 70 minutes, no intermission.

This is a very nice off-Broadway production, well directed as the two move around their "separate" apartments on the same floor plan. Both have good voices and it's nice to hear these songs. I have to admit I wish the producers at Keen Company had cast better voices, but Jason and Lauren are both solid performers and came off very well in the small space. I did get a discount through theatermania.com, and was glad I only paid $55, and not $79.
