I generally don't like tattoos at all. Like Deej, I like healthy skin, and I like nude -- that is, naked -- men. To my mind, tattoos are a form of clothing.. When I am with a guy with tattoos, I feel like I am trying to read a book about his life, and that's not what he's there for. But two exceptions: Like Bosguy, I like a simple tribal band around the bicep, as long as the convention of right=bottom, left=top is observed. And I have always found a discreet ownership tattoo acceptable, but in an inconspicuous place. My favorites are the owner's initials tattooed (or branded?) at the base of the spine, just where the ass crack begins. But please, not the bar codes!

Mine is exactly that, my cat is now 10 and she has slept with me everynight since I got her at 5 weeks old, she thinks I am her mother and so I wanted to get this so that when the inevitable happens (which I hope isn't for another 10 years) she will always be with me.

I like to keep the artwork for my walls not my skin.

That, and the fact that I'd have to put up with the same artwork all the time on my body for the rest of my life. I *REALLY* hope my taste isn't the same as it is now in 20 years. If it is, god help me.

Piercings are more attractive to me than tattoos. Little known fact: I had 6 piercings on my left ear at one point. That was when I was young(er) and dumb(er).

Generally not a tattoo person. I had an encounter at a place of business where a 25 year old or so very hot very muscular mechanic was working on my car. I must admit to doing a bit of fantasy fucking and when he started to remove his shirt I felt as though a silent unasked prayer had been answered. When he removed the shirt his body was magnificent. Certainly a 400$ an hour body with an unfortunately large and white supremist tattoo over the back. The fantasy was totally over, not just because of the tattoo but because of the sentiment. I have my car repaired somewhere else.

Had the tattoo been of something else, the sheer size of it would have been a turnoff, and if the same tattoo had been tiny, it would not have altered my feeling at all.

A small personal tattoo may be nice, but it may give an insight that you would rather not have into the personality of your escort.

Interesting, Purplekow. You said what I have been feeling. An escort (as opposed to a boyfriend) is in business to provide a service. Within the parameters of choice (body type, activities, well reviewed or not, etc.) which are objective, the escort's job is to give the client what the client wants. Part of that is fantasy. The fantasy may be exactly what the escort is (isn't it nice when that happens!) but most of the time there is an element of work on the escort's part, to discover what the client wants and deliver it. You want a sweet boyfriend for the evening? I'll be your sweet boyfriend, never mind that in real life I have problems forming relationships. You want a stern dominant top? I have the body for it, and can do it as part of the menu, even though in fact I am a warm and cuddly homebody who would like nothing better than stroking each other slowly and whispering sweet nothings and planning in exquisite detail what we are going to cook for dinner.

What the tattoo does is advertise part of the escort's self, making it impossible to ignore. If this is in line with the fantasy, that's super. But what if it isn't? PK's case, it definitely was not. The political statement of that tattoo turned him off so completely that he took his business elsewhere, no matter the quality of the work that mechanic might have done. An escort is in the business of inviting projections from his clients. The more things an escort can be to his clients, the more clients he can have. I spent much of yesterday looking up Kaden Saylor on the internet. There was a picture of him posted in the Gallery section, and I realized how attractive I have found him. He has only one tattoo -- a tribal on his left arm. The rest is pure, unadulterated natural muscle boy, just like I like them. In fact, in his videos he is completely versatile, which makes him even more imaginatively available to me. If he had more than the one tattoo, no matter what it was, he would be defining himself into smaller categories.

It is interesting to me that the guys on Sean Cody often get tattoos after they start work with SC. Mostly they do not work for me. I simply don't see the attraction, especially for someone who at some level wants to have some sort of career as a sexual dream object. Why cut down the number of people attracted to you?

Theer are many tattoos (most?) that do not carry any political or moral implications - they're simply aesthetic. Like body types and features, they will appeal to some & not others.

I agree that some tattoos will turn off certain clients - but some will also attract cerain clients. And they can project a certain image or personality. I'm struggling a bit with the view that an escort should be a blank slate upon clients project their desires or a chameleon. That certainly can be true to an extent, but the idea of suppressing their personality -which means you never get any insight into their real personality - bothers me a bit.

Speaking of Active Duty - they've been hiding certain tatttoos on Axl that supposedly had white supremacist connotations. http://menofporn.typepad.com/menofporn/2012/01/the-tattoos-of-axl-from-active-duty.html

and FYI - I'm not a fan of a numerous tattoos, but I 'imprinted' on the clean-cut types in college. :)

Well, if I had to get a tattoo it would be something along the lines of ...

So I'm not sure if this would help or hurt my image.

What place of business was that? I've never seen any mechanic take his shirt off working on my car (not sure I would want to).

Interesting input reading this whole thread about tattoos. I never really thought of it that way. I had a friend once (non-escort) tell me that I should get tattoos to boost business but from reading this doesn't sound like it. However, I may still go with the 1 band thing around the arm tattoo as those are always hot. Not sure if it would be tribal though, because even those get critiqued a bit.

As for the comments about reading a book about someone, yeah that's true too. Imagine dating a man who has a tattoo that he got with his ex-wife with whom he has 2 kids with, whom she got re-married to another man? It's like damn...if I had to live with that on me forever, I'd be fucked up in the head too...

As I read your post, Joey, what popped into my mind was an image of me getting all hot and bothered over a gorgeous escort and then seeing on his delicious bod a tattoo ensemble that brings to mind a country and western I-lost-my-gal-and-my-life-is-ruined song. LOL! Thanks for the smile!
