So, I have gone ahead and made an appointment to see an escort. Have my tickets and hotel reservation ready. The only thing I need to to decide now is whether to do an in-call or out-call. Obviously an out-call is more convenient for me, but I am nervous that hotel staff might get suspicious and call the police if a stranger walks in and heads to my room. I'm heading down to Texas which adds to my anxiety because of the reputation of their harsh law enforcement. Am I being too paranoid? What experiences do you guys have getting an escort to your room?

I live in Texas (Houston). I have never had a problem with having a visitor come up to my room either here in Houston or in any other city/town in Houston. As long as the provider is appropriately dressed and looks like he "belongs" at the hotel (as a guest), then there should be no problem. This includes everything from the best five-star/five-diamond property down to the popularly priced budget places. If you are staying on a club or concierge floor, which has restricted access, then it would be best to meet your provider in the hotel bar or other similar place on the property.

I know that stress from my first meet with an escort...

if he is well-reviewed and -regarded, he'll know how to handle himself....to calm yourself, get to your hotel well ahead of the meet time, check in (make sure meeting time isn't too early), walk the route from lobby door to your door and see if anything might spook you (or him)....see if a key is needed for an elevator....check out if hotel staff really has prying eyes...if there's a doorman, does he even seem to care?....remind him to dress inconspicuously...

I've met in lobbies and walked up with the guy....and I've given room numbers and the guy just knocks on my door....see which feels better at your hotel....

and try to relax, have fun, don't talk or move fast, slow down, offer the guy a bottle of water or a coffee (or a beer), chat him up...you can even mention you're nervous and laugh about it....

also, go for a brisk walk beforehand to calm down....that helps me at times....

All very good advice. I usually give the escort an option on where he would like to meet: my room, lobby, lobby bar (if there is one), outside entrance, a coffee shop (or such) nearby or someplace nearby he might suggest. Almost every time they have said they will come to my room directly. Experienced escorts know very well how to be inconspicuous when entering hotels on their way to a room but doesn't hurt to express your anxiety to him. One of the issues I have had in the past early on when hiring was getting all anxious waiting for the knock on the door. I've found that a quick walk around the block a half hour before his visit, as someone else suggested, is a great way to burn up some of the nervous energy. Relax and enjoy!

You could always meet in the lobby or parking lot. I ask this of clients at times myself when going on an appointment.

I agree with all of the above. Thing is with hotels, a LOT goes on in hotels with all kinds of people meeting each other under all kinds of circumstances, so management is usually not as interested in who's coming to your room as you might think. Perhaps you've walked down a hotel corridor around early evening and noticed the number of room service trays out by the doors, many with two wine glasses or other evidence of intimate encounters. Hotels facilitate meetings.

As Andrew mentions, an experienced escort will walk in like he stays there and dress accordingly, but you can always have him call from his cell when he arrives and meet him out front or in the lobby like Keenan and others suggest. I always wear a blazer, even if I'm just wearing jeans and a t-shirt and nobody ever gives me any trouble.

emilioboy… You have received some great advice… and from both sides of the equation. I have never had a problem with hotel security… and as far as hotel employees are concerned… they have seen it all… and then some… I am sure your innocent liaison will be completely unnoticed and overlooked.

The only concern would be if it is very late as in the wee hours of the morning and lots of noise might be coming from your room. That is when a "neighbor" might call security…and only then to quiet things down a bit… but other than that I would not give it any thought what so ever. Incidentally, I usually ask for an end or corner room if available so as to eliminate at lest one "neighbor".

In any event, having a bit of “security concerns” is part of the rush and charge one gets when doing a hook-up in a hotel setting… it only adds to the excitement and anticipation… it is almost as exciting as the anticipation of seeing the guy for the first time… So turn that feeling into a positive!

Harsh law enforcement as far as I've seen on CNBC is in Houston looking for women who are being trafficked or pimped out or women off backpage or craigslist working together (considered a brothel) out of a hotel.

I did kinda find entertaining the episode where a 'client cop' came in dressed as a clown requesting the 2 girl special. then they get busted (really?) and then another episode where a group of guys drop a girl off at a hotel, and the cops find a book on pimpology in the car.

Based on my experiences with younger, not so professional guys (think "dancer"), even "appropriately dressed" isn't an issue. The prize winner is perhaps the multi-tattooed, multi-pierced, 20-year old with very short cropped bleached blond hair who appeared at my door carrying his skateboard under his arm and wearing a skimpy muscle T and very tight jeans. The chambermaid who was in the corridor nearby did a double-take, but that's all.

I don't think the hotel staff memorizes the face of every guest, so he will probably blend in with every other person milling about the hotel.

I've never had a problem, and my impression is the hotel could care less unless you impact other guests-ie make a lot of noise, are totally obnoxious in the lobby, etc. I generally try and give visitors the layout so they look like they know where they are going, particularly if there are say two elevator banks or the elevators aren't obvious when entering the lobby. I've found that most guys really don't need the info-they've probably been there more often than I have. I forget the particulars but even had one guest make it up to the room even though I was on the concierge floor with an elevator that required key access. I think he said he always waits to be the last to enter the elevator and punch in the floor and hopes someone else is going to the concierge floor. If not he gets as close as he can and takes the stairs up one or two flights.

I once had an "appointment" with a hotel manager a few years ago and he told me that they can't really refuse entry to an escort because you're a guest of a paying customer.

In 12 years of escorting, I have never been stopped by hotel reception, never questioned once. They're really not that interested and they have a lot to keep them busy and the staff change 2-3 times a day.

The problem I encounter is after 11pm on a evening when they have a key carded closed door policy and hotel chains like Holiday Inn Express who require a valid key card to enter the stairwell or lift

I could imagine a situation where a hotel has tightened up security because of certain problems they have had or are currently having with some issues (various illegal activities). Upon reflection of places I've stayed, I do recall a few hotels where they had a security person at the elevators and you were required to show your room key. That is pretty standard in Vegas but I also encountered that elsewhere (not that often though and not recently). I think you would get a sense of that when you check in.

I work at a highish end hotel and everything that was stated is pretty spot on. If the escort is dressed properly, noise is kept to a min then there will be no issues. The front desk staff really don't care. Like someone stated before, they have a lot of paper work to do and unless there is something major going on (think international summit of some sorts) they don't really pay much attention but to the task at hand. Same goes for other staff in the hotel.

Hugs,

Greg

Thanks for posting this question, Emilio. I've never seen the hotel security as an issue. Depending on the hotel and the level of security the staff might ask a person who is wandering in the lobby looking for something if they might be of any help. Make sure your escort knows where he's going (probably you can indicate where the elevators are located) and that he walks in the hotel "as-he-owns-the-place" ;-) provided the elevators are not key-controlled.

I would suggest that you meet your guest in a public place such at the lobby or coffee shop/bar.

This has the advantage of having an encounter with the gentleman before he is in your room.

If he appears as you expected and behaves in an acceptable manner, then off to the room.

If not, you may excuse yourself and tell him that you do not intend to keep the appointment. If for some reason, you feel that you do not feel safe cutting off the date face to face, you can excuse yourself, head back to the room and then call him to cancel.

One thing I would warn you about, if for some reason he asks to see the money, run, don't walk in the other direction. Though not likely to happen, this could be a police set up or a try to get the money and run.

I make a decision about how to orchestrate "the meet" depending on how the hotel is arranged.

If it's a large convention hotel without elevator security I just ask the guy to come up to my room. They have hundreds if not thousands of guests and there's no way anyone would notice one random person going upstairs if they look semi normal,

If the elevator access if secured the only option is to meet downstairs.

The hardest places are smaller hotels where there is no way to the guest rooms other than to walk right past the registration desk. This is particularly true in Europe, where most guests leave their keys at the desk when they're out, so it isn't normal for people to just walk past. This all means they have a better idea of who's a guest and who isn't. In these cases I usually choose to meet in the lobby and chat there for a few minutes before "inviting" him up to my room. I stay at one small hotel in Europe often enough that I now know the entire registration desk staff, and its pretty obvious they know what I'm up to and I've gotten a couple of looks but that's it.

If I've hired someone I don't know and am not 100% sure about I will always meet somewhere in the lobby rather than give them my room number beforehand.

I don't know..but sometimes I've run into situations where if you appear lost or ask someone where the elevators/room number are...they will ask you, "what's the guests first and last name you're seeing?" I know as an escort one should ask that, but I don't generally give that information OUT.

I just avoid asking hotel staff for directions. Generally my hotel senses will magically guide me to the elevators effortlessly...but the time I went to the wrong hotel with the same name, didn't do me any good :(

Imagine being sent to the wrong ritz carleton twice in a row (because the client insisted there was only 1 ritz in atlanta), going to the wrong room, and back down, and having to pay for parking. That night sucked.

Interesting problem. Just the other day I met an escort at a hotel. He said specifically several times, "Besure to text me before you come to the room" I was thinking that he wanted just to be completely prepared for me when I knocked, not so. I found out when I finally arrived at his room, that he wanted to "make sure" that I was at the correct Hilton, as apparently there were two in town, and several times he had clients go to the wrong hotel and knock on the wrong door. Very embarrassing. So when I texted him to tell him I was down stairs, he had me verify that I was indeed in the correct lobby.
