Yup. He seemed nice enough and I was able to look both him and his partner up on Manhunt/Facebook with the info he gave me and would have probably done it, until he came back with that number.

You might be surprised how many times a newbie will quote an overnight rate for 300 or 400. They don't understand escorting and or don't consider themselves pros. Some guys just don't think they have what it takes to be a good escort. They lack confidence. I've had several great times with guys charging that low. Of course, they were unreviewed, and I took the risk scheduling them, knowing they could flake or be awful providers, but I have experienced several upside surprises. There is higher risk scheduling newbies, but with it, comes the potential for higher reward. However, knowing the value of a good provider and a quality experience, I have always tipped those guys well.

 

As for the art of negotiation, particularly with regard to trading goods/services for an escort's time, it can't be dismissed completely out-of-hand. The wii seems to be a below-market exchange, but last year, I had a newbie (who is major eye candy), trade a 2-day get together with me for some work on his car. He was new to town, and didn't know what needed to be done to get the car repaired or where to take it. So, while he was here, I put his car in the shop, with a mechanic (yes, an actual mechanic, not one of these useless technicians), who got his car fixed, and we picked it up the next day. My savings were minimal, based the value of a 2-day playdate with a newbie, but he saved alot of money because I got his car repaired for much less than he could have if he taken a shot in the dark with the swindlers around town. By the way, I had a great time with him too. He was very appreciative.

 

So, there is a place for negotiation, but there should be commensurate value on both sides.

I didn't review him because he didn't stick with it for long. He was transitioning from one job to another, and just escorted to make ends meet. When I know or suspect that to be the situation with a provider, I don't submit a review. AND occasionally, I'm just a selfish SOB, and like to keep a good one for myself.

Did something similar a few years back. The guy I met at 'Hunters' was trying to go home permanently to be with family back East. Hollywood had done him in. He had windowed the block in the engine and thought it to be a minor repair. I knew differently...so when I explained he needed a new engine, we negotiated a rather satisfactory deal. The whole experience lasted only a couple of days, but we had a wonderful time, and he was soon on his way...

I need to take your advice. I submitted a review for a young guy in a similar situation who only worked for a couple of months between jobs. As soon as the review published, his ad disappeared. And in those situations I would likely be selfish as well.

This situation can happen quite frequently in a Major Market like NYC..There's nothing wrong with "Private Stock" ...I've sworn by it for many year's...

 

 

I know at one time IF the Working Guy did not run an AD and didnot want a Review "Hooboy" would not print it. IF he was Advertising he was Fair Game!
