http://www.hookonline.org is the URL for hook online. It's an online resource for escorts. I believe it's based out of UK, not NYC, but is meant to be international in its scope. There are some good resources on the site, though their feature stories haven't been updated in awhile.

The conference in DC looks interesting, but I don't know anything about it beyond what's in the info they provided in the announcement.

  • 1 month later...

Hook has done some really good things for male escorts, in terms of disseminating information. It's been a bit dormant lately but I think the guys are hoping to start more activity again.

I had a funny situation with that panel at the Gay Men's Health Summit. Hawk called me to ask if I would be on the panel. I would've loved to do so: I support the goals of Hook and am always ready to teach/talk about the escorting industry. But I was hired from that morning for the weekend, and my client - based in DC - and I were slated to be on a train to NYC at that time. Hawk and I did a little dance about scheduling, even to the point where I agreed to ask my client if he would be flexible so that I could be on the panel for an hour, with him in attendance in the audience (we were going to get him into the conference for free). I told Hawk it was really up to my client.

The outcome? Client said go ahead... but he himself was going to skip the conference, as he found it too depressing to attend. He said we should meet afterwards and take a later train up to NY.

I didn't want to do it without having him at least present in the audience. I didn't like the idea of changing our weekend plans so much that he and I wouldn't be together for those morning hours. So I told Hawk I would have to pass, my commitment was with my client. He completely understood.

And said Client and I went on to have an amazing weekend. He is one of those guys who never writes reviews, so alas, you'll just have to trust me on that one...
