When I'm at dinner with a client, and YOU'RE at dinner at a client I should NOT glance to the other side of the restaurant and notice you gesturing at my client and I while you both look over at us. Talk about unprofessional.

Anyone else have similar encounters?

As a soon-to-be FTL resident, I would love to know who the other very "unprofessional" escort was...The client was not me, as I have not been in town, and I understand if you do not want to kiss-and-tell....but knowing might save me a bad hire. email is the best way to contact me...

Isn't it possible that the other escort was just pointing out to his friend that you were hot....or that you and your companion make a cute couple? Perhaps he didn't even recognize you as being another escort. Perhaps, too, the person accompanying him to dinner was not even a client. Just food for thought.

I'm thinking this Issue you are having should really be taken up with whomever the "Working Guy" is you don't like looking at you in Public Places?

It really has nothing to do with a Client As someone else has said ...maybe HE wasn't even with a Client! ;)

This happen to me a couple of years ago. I was out with some friends for dinner; one of my favorite’s escorts was there also with a very nice looking older man. I assumed he was with a client, out of respect to him I did not acknowledge him, I did make eye contact. The next day I was at Piedmont Park (local city park) I ran into the escort and his friend at the park. He was so upset with me for not acknowledging him. He was with his father who was visiting him from NY. We actually all went out that night (his dad was also gay). Of course his father didn’t know how I knew his son; the crazy thing is I ended up hooking up with his dad that night. Now my escort friend is no longer in the business and we are very good friends. Now if I run into an escort I will always say hello and if I am with friends he is introduced to them as someone who has help me around my house.

It never happened to me but I can see why you felt it was unprofessional. If I were to ever run into an escort, I would only say hello if he was alone and I would expect the same if I was alone. I believe that is standard etiquette in such situations (I couldn't find my Emily Post advice book so not sure it is actually covered there or not).

Now, I am curious (not that it really matters for whether or not it was unprofessional)....what was the gesture (pointing, waving, blowing a kiss, giving the bird, etc) and was it directed at you or your client? Who felt more awkward, you or your client? And did it negatively impact the rest of the dinner/evening?

Atlantaguy- HAH! Best story ever!!!!

And Jgoo -- I'm not sure if the gestures were specifically at me or my client, but after I noticed the escort looking at me and gesturing while talking, the client looked over at me at the same time. It was painfully obvious that they were talking about us. Thank heavens my date didn't notice-- we were both in deep conversation. Maybe I'm being a bit melodramatic?

I've ran into clients in public. I remember almost every client and almost every important detail -- I know how discreet, closeted, professional etc. they are and I adjust my acknowledgement accordingly. It may just be eye contact - or just a nod and a hello (or nothing at all) but I have never gestured at another couple when dining. I have noticed (and on occasion discreetly acknowledged) other escorts (female and male) when they are working while out on the town, but I feel no need to point them out. Just like how the relationship between my date and I are held in confidentiality confidentiality, I hold the relationships' of others in the privacy that they deserve.

Brooklyn guy -- totally agree. Not the other client's fault at all.

Bigvalboy -- Having been the target of a bad review in the past, I have NO desire to hurt another escorts' business. I gave him a call and I talked with him about my concerns. I think we are on the same level now :)

Jgoo -- very obvious hand gesturing/pointing coupled with eye contact

jjkrkwood -- DEFINITLEY NOT. I have a VERY close circle of friends (about four people) of which I go to school with who know that I escort. I have bumped into a few of them at the mall when I was with a client and (thankfully) they handled it with ease. I could see things going awry pretty quickly, though..

Joeblow -- like your thinking. Innocent until proven guilty, I suppose ;)

You know, you could always send the escort in question a note saying something along the lines of: "Hey, I saw you out the other night and you were waving/gesturing/making the universal sign for choking/flipping me off, and because I was with someone I didn't get the opportunity to say 'hi.'"

"So, what's up?"

I'm not fishing for his identify or anything but am curious....Is he someone of some experience or relatively new to the biz? And did he readily recognize and acknowledge his faux pas after you brought it to his attention?

Fair enough, no need for specifics really. But you did handle it very professionally, that was well done...shows a level of maturity, way beyond your years...IMO

Maybe the other escort had read the thread on "social time vs sex time" and was trying to convince his client that he should actually be paid for sitting there having dinner and suggested they ask you and your client what your financial arrangement was for dinner. Paid time or free time??:rolleyes::rolleyes:
