I ran into BP at Casual Companion the other day and we were talking about the fact that he accepts credit cards now. Unfortunately he's a busy boy and left without answering my questions.

1) Do you accept credit cards, and how exactly does that work? I have tried using PayPal in the past and I don't like it. I know with iPhone there are a number of credit systems now, but I have no experience with them. Suggestions? Also, has the fact that you market yourself as credit card-friendly made it more frequent that people actually use them with you, or no?

2) I've considered traveling again or doing a tour or sorts, and was asked about this within the past couple of days. In the past when I did travel I've allowed clients to buy tickets for me, but that required my personal information and I'm not willing to give that out anymore. For escorts that also have this policy—do you buy your own tickets up front and expect the client to reimburse, or do you have the client forward you the cost and then show proof of purchase?

The key here is that I'd like to keep my personal information personal, and if it comes down to not being able to travel on a client's dime without giving that info out—then I understand. But if there are clients who are making this work for them, I'd like to know how they approach it.

Gracias.

Max,

I've done it both ways. One guy prefers to book his own travel, then adds it to his rate. He always clears the flight cost with me before he books. Another guy prefers that I book his travel, he has no problem giving me his real name and date of birth, which are required. You should know, however, that I knew both of these guys before and I have a level of trust with both of them. They know that I would never divulge anything of what I know about them, and I know they won't rip me off.

Max - have handled airfare both ways. From my perspective, I have always felt much more comfortable buying the ticket for the traveler. It also shows a level of commitment on my part for the engagement.

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking I should probably take baby steps with working back up to extended appointments again and overnights/travel. I've gotten so shellshocked from the absolutely incredible number of flakes who have contacted me this past spring and I'm really finding myself getting suspicious of just about anyone who contacts me right now.

In my early hiring days I made a point of going to the escorts I wanted to visit. I did NOT bring them to me. I only chose escorts in cities that I wanted to visit just in case they were no shows. Fortunately that never happened. As time passed I established a regular relationship with two escorts and have made trips with both of them. Initially they would book their own ticket and I would send them a postal money order to cover the cost. Now if they book their own travel I send them a personal check or include the ticket cost with their fee in one check I send them a week or so prior to the trip. Over the years we have established of relationship of mutual trust and thus know each other’s personal information. I recently booked and paid for plane tickets for both of us.

If you absolutely refuse to give clients, who are paying for your travel, your real name you don’t have a lot of choices. You almost have to trust the client enough to collect the money for your ticket when you meet him. You might also ask the client to send you a postal money order with the name of the payee blank. I don’t like that idea for a number of obvious reasons. An interesting question and in the end a tough call.

I like the idea of doing a tour much better than actually traveling on someone's dime simply because I get to do what I want, when I want—and there's break time if I need some. Also, I've had to cancel trips before because something came up or I got sick, and I hate dealing with the hassle.

I'd love for you to do that, Max. And "flake" is not in my vocabulary.

Since I'm "old" but "young" in my hiring days, the idea of traveling to cities that I would find interesting regardless of how it worked out with the escort and/or escorts is VERY appealing. Thanks, Epignos.

I use a similar strategy as Epigonos. I never travel to another city just to meet one guy. I will have others in mind as a back-up in case the intended target flakes, or something touristy to do, or perhaps even a business contact I can make. This philosophy has served me well.

Honestly, I'm much more concerned with problems on MY end than from a client. That's one of the things I don't like about committing to an extended appointment, is that something will go wrong and I'll be the one who has to cancel.

Hey Max,

Personally I prefer to deal with cash only. A very good friend of mine, an amazing escort and stripper loved by her clients, started using a credit card terminal. She noticed an increase in business right away, specially from men who were drunk and hadn't planned far in advance so that they didn't have cash, only their cards. It all went well, until she started to get charges contested. Apparently the bank scoffed at her "business" a few times and favoured her clients, who denied having ever seen her. Needless to say she put the terminal to rest. Cash is easy, final and untraceable.

As for my personal information... I used to give away all my personal information when I was visiting my clients. Sadly, I was very often shocked when some "professional clients" always used real and escort names to tell their adventures with previous escorts. Some of these clients also used last names, even when I squeamishly tried to take the conversation somewhere else. It goes something like "I had an overnight with Rock Hudson, whose real name is John Doe, whose birthday is on September 5th and ........"

Needless to say I prefer to book my tickets myself. If we are going to share intense, intimate moments, I might as well trust that they will fulfill their part of the bargain. Up until now, without exception, they have.

Thank you, that's more or less what I wanted to hear.

I cannot believe some of the shit you guys have to put up with. :(

T

Actually it is my personal experience that I don't have to put up with much, if anything at all. I love my job and enjoy it immensely, and by simply being careful in my screening process, I have been very fortunate to meet mainly with fun, respectful, interesting, caring and reliable clients.

A lot of escorts and sex workers alike have different decision making processes than mine, and sometimes to be more accommodating and flexible for their clients they end up in situations that are difficult. Some alleged prospective clients have called me inflexible and a lousy businessman when I fail to play by their rules. I have not benefited from their business. The people that I have met, though, have been mostly wonderful people that I will always be thrilled to see again.

I have found that if I treat myself with the care and respect that a professional deserves, people unfailingly follow suit.

You're a great example of one of my heroine Louise Hay's maxims:

Whatever I put out into the Universe comes back to me multiplied.

And yes, gents, if you like those verbs a little too much, well...have fun with the innuendo!! :)

Sounds like a metaphysical Self-Bukkake party! =)

And now that we are quoting her, and to close my participation on this subject:

"Love who and what you are and what you do."

Big hug, Tyro!
