It's my understanding that an escort sees a negative review before it is published and has the chance to respond - which clearly happened here or the response would not have been published WITH the review. So, it's unknown to us when Xander saw the review (tho I'd guess it was a matter of days or possibly weeks).

 

I wrote a negative review. Checked on it after two weeks, and was told that the escort had it for response. It was published about 2 weeks after that. So, Xander most likely was aware of the cigarette problem from this episode for about 3 weeks.

I just wanted to give props to Xander for his response to a mildly negative review today.

I concur Xander handled the review professionally and with maturity far beyond his years. Well done.

 

I, too, think props are deserved. Xander is quite young and, clearly (at least to me), he is smart. Customer service wisdom is rare in anyone under 30 these days. For some people, especially the trolls, you're damned if you, damned if you don't.

I actually credit the reviewer for his honesty. It's not easy to come out and say all that, knowing what information the escort may have on you.

Wow - 10 pages on this?! And I can't believe I actually read it all. A few points occur to me - nothing original, so if you want to skip, feel free:

 

1) way back on page 2 Max noted that the review and response were measured and pretty well handled. It was almost disappointing because we were denied the pleasure of reading a negatively reviewed working guy's rants and shrieks. All I can say is the shrieks came from other quarters on this one - and they generally were fun/funny. So I guess it all worked out for our summertime reading pleasure after all.

 

2) I'm not trying to be an enabler here, but I do think the guys who have noted that Xander is young and pretty new to this profession are being accurate and fair. There is a learning curve in all things and it would seem that our boy has learned quite a bit here on this thread.

 

3) Both escorts and clients have stated (quite unflatteringly in some instances) that the client should have spoken up, he almost had a duty to do so. Well yes, but not everyone has that kind of gumption. Instead, the client wrote a review that was certainly not mean-spirited in tone, but was pretty measured and fair, if I remember correctly. It was not a damning review in my book - if anything it seemed like a critique of how the escort might improve.
