I just returned from Folsom East which I attended with a fellow poster... no prize for guessing who based on another thread! Even though the weather cooperated, it would have been a bit more agreeable if it were a bit sunnier and a bit warmer... as walking around only wearing some leather did send a chill though one's body. However, as the crowd grew in numbers and the hotness of the crowd was experienced it turned out to be a perfect day indeed. Damn there were more than quite a few sizzling dudes in attendence… and they for once were all located in one place and at the same time!!!

 

As expected, there were the booths selling all sorts of leather wear and accessories. However, I must mention two highlights... First the Lucas booth where one could meet their hottest stars... and damn did they radiate all that would be expected from the Lucas stable, and then some... all class with bodies that simply exuded and displayed sex, sex, and more sex! Woof!

 

However, for me the highlight was the bondage exhibition given by Master Avery (of escort and Bound-Gods fame) at the NY Bondage Club booth where he had a guy (which guy was hot in his own right) suspended in a variety of positions. The fact that both guys really seemed to take pleasure in and from each other made the exhibition all the more enjoyable. Incidentally, it was fun to listen to comments from other bystanders who had no clue who he was!

 

So a fun time… I am sure this was small potatoes compared to what happens in San Fran… but a satisfying experience nonetheless.

 

Incidentally, the party continued (sans Avery) at the NYBC later that evening… and proved to be the most well attended gathering I had ever experienced there… and given that it was post Folsom… it attracted the hottest bunch of guys I ever recall experiencing there as well!!!

 

Looking forward to next year!

Thanks for the report WG...sounds like a good time was had by all....what could be better than the combination of hot guys, leather and some BDSM activities....I would say a perfect weekend....you are so lucky....

Firstly, I actually didnt mind the cooler weather, as it was the first time I can remember that I wore leather to this event and didnt sweat my balls off...

 

Usually the energy is higher when its really hot and everyone is all sweaty, but there were many, many hot bods in all states of undress, and the crowd didnt disappoint. And what can you say about the Eagle that hasnt been said ? I usually volunteer my services (NOT those services) for this event, but decided to be a guest this year.... I nice, relaxing, friendly

atmosphere...... and who doesnt love a 7 ft Drag Queen ? Happy Pride ya'll.... - JJ

Thanks, WG, for your excellent account of Folsom East. I was there too and thoroughly enjoyed the vast landscape of hot kinky dudes. Your description of Avery with his willing happy bottom was excellent. I talked to the bottom later and he was still glowing from the joy he experienced. There's only one other event I witnessed that you didn't mention. The well-known Top from D.C., Master Taino, gave a long and intense session of flogging to a young man chained to a cross. Master was using several different floggers and would constantly change the strength and force of his flogging from light to suddenly SEVERE. He had the guy bellowing and screaming from the pain and obviously loving it. His back was intensely red and heavily marked. I'm sure he carried those souvenirs of Folsom East for quite a time afterward. The scene was so intense that it got me amazingly horny for a flogging, but I don't think I could have handled such a gloriously severe one. It was awesome! Thank you, Master Taino, for getting to the heart of BDSM/Leather.

Hey Buzz… Shoot! I missed that flogging exhibition… We left when things got really conjested and it was difficult to make one’s way through the crowd!

 

Now it is my turn to compliment you on your description of the flogging as done by Master Taino… THAT is what flogging is all about, “…changing the strength and force… from light to suddenly SEVERE”. That’s the way it should be done… so that the recipient is constantly on the edge.

 

I am still somewhat of an amateur at flogging, but that is the concept that I endeavor to espouse when playing the part of the Dom. Having had a number of experiences along the way as a sub, I intuitively have developed a series of techniques and approaches that keeps the sub on his toes and hopefully satisfies his thirst for the type of pain that elicits pleasure. The key is having floggers of different weights and sizes… and that includes different strand sizes and materials as well… and then using them in a variety of ways. As for causing lingering marks, that is something that needs to be worked out with the sub beforehand… Some consider it a badge of honor… for others it might involve an uncomfortable bit of ‘splaining!

 

In the final analysis, I really wished I had seen the demo as I am sure I could have learned quite a bit simply from observing. It also would have been instructive to see the types of equipment that the Master was using. I have only four different full-fledged floggers plus a few other “sundry” toys, and the hardest part is carting the equipment around with you… so for convenience I have mostly lighter-weight toys … but when used efficiently they can certainly get the job done!

 

Buzz… thanks again… I got hard just reading your description!!!! As for being able to endure it… well at this point I really don’t have anything that I need to prove… but it would be interesting to see if I still had it in me!

That makes for a beautiful session, variations in intensity, alternating between thud and sting, fast and slow. Sometimes using the one flogger, or a pattern of strokes as a drone building up a base of thythym and expectation. Then either building on that, harmonizing with it, or shattering the repetition with a new flogger, stroke, arm or variation of intensity.

 

Love how flogging can be a symphony as one progresses through movements from warm up to the finale with long thematic lines of tension connecting familar patterns interwoven with the unexpected in an exciting counterpoint.

Raul... certainly music to my ears!

 

Actually rhythm and pace are what it is all about... and yes it should be thought of in musical terms... from an individual measure to a full blown symphony... and everything in between... I personally prefer the classical structure and balance of Haydn (with a "surprise" or two thrown in for good measure) as my main model with a bit of Rossini's brilliance as part of the equation as well... as heck there is absolutely nothing like a Rossinian crescendo building to an earth shattering and lively climax! Plus, heck if you are going to flog someone a bit of symmetry is a good thing as one needs to balance things out so as both sides of the body are not neglected... and indeed both of the composers referenced above are known for their symmetry and sense of proportion... yet at the same time for their sense of adventure and exploration... if with in a more limited and established structure. Still, given those parameters the range of possibilities can be endless... and as Raul suggests a variety of movements to suit the situation is not out of order... For example, after a rousing and rather involved first movement there is often the need for a second movement representing a moment of repose... to be followed by a jocular minuet in preparation for a boisterous finale where all the stops are pulled out...

 

Perhaps this post belongs in the Arts Forum... as flogging is indeed an art form as Raul so eloquently points out!

I had stopped paying attention to this thread, but then Raul expressed surprise I hadn't comment, since I am a music fan and a flogging fan! To me, the second and fourth movements of Prokofiev's 5th Symphony would be the perfect accompaniment for a rhythmically exacting flogging. I definitely agree that there should be a rhythm to it, not just random strokes. A master flogger is surely a supreme artist.
