Tanned skin is considered hot.

for me, tanned skin means a higher risk of cancer. and cancer is not hot. at all

young guys need to be smart about what they're doing to their skin now to avoid premature age later. I've seen some escorts here who's pictures make them look much older than they are due to too much sun exposure. smoking ages too, but sun is equally as bad.

pale can be real sexy as long as the guy takes care of his skin

If the escort lists at least his hourly rate. Ask, call, nego etc are total time wasters and huge turn-offs for me.

Well, I can see that...however I have recently become more open to leaving rates as varies. Reason being is because with men4rent, I cannot and do not wish to charge my home rates when I'm working in other states 500-900 miles from home or further. I've had cases where clients have said, "I see you've changed your rate, its a bit more than I can afford." And it's like a $20 difference most times.

Last month, to cut confusion I just created 2 separate ads to have different rates in different cities. However, my written reviews and star rating are important and I could not transfer my reviews to my new ad. Men4rent is okay with having 2 ads, but they won't move the reviews to it. In addition, I just find people's desires just seem to vary up so much. I rather call my rates out based on how business is going at the moment or what exactly the client wants to do. I'd rather agree to a rate a few bucks less than I would advertise than to just completely miss the appointment all together.

Oddly, I've found increases in business almost immediately when I leave my rates blank. Maybe clients expect me to be $250/hr, but I know people around here aren't going to pay it...but to put anything less probably makes me look cheap, so I'll leave it blank. Keep em guessing...I mean, as long as the rate is confirmed before meeting I can't see it being too much of a mind-fuck.

Hi I believe Xander is asking "What in an ad, makes you contact the gentleman?" Accurate pictures, stats and reviews have nothing to do with contacting the gentleman. Photos- could not agree more with, clear photos, a smile always attracts me. I agree on head and chest shots together. I dislike photos which show each body part like a puzzle. I personally love photos of a guy in tight jeans, sexy underwear, and playfull.

A well written ad showing intelligience and understanding of the client base you wish to attract. Making sure if you list stats in your verbage in matches the information in your stats. I turn off immediately when I read someone is 5"10 175 and get to the stats and he lists the height at 5'8 and 165. One stat that does not change from year to year is your height. If you update your ad to say 22 but not he stats at 21 yes that does show lack of concern for details. Stats that dont match pictures, hair long in photo but stats say short for example.

Mispelled words do turn me off. I can deal with one but seriously there is spell check write the ad in word or whatever other word doc program you have and then copy it in. Dont use text jargon. I hate that. Remember your target audience are ment over 40 not your 20 something friends. Try to sound professional. Please dont say stuff like "I am here because I need rent money now" I am telling you most of us are interpeting that to mean "I need drug money now." Sounds very unsympathetic but true. I guess I really dont want to know why you are doing this in the ad. Anyone who hires you knows you need money or you would not be doing this.

In the stats "Please list your interests" Kissing, anal, oral etc. Dont leave that blank. You can have the best written ad but if you dont list the tastes, I wont contact.

Anyway just my thoughts. Xander your ad is pretty well done and what I like is you seem to be listening to clients and what I like a great deal is you are trying to raise the bar for yourself. That is always a good thing now and when you decide to move on to your chosen profession later on.

Why would you change your rates because you are traveling? I am not allowed to change my cost to my customers when I am on the road and I am paying my own expenses. I would think that would be part of your business plan. When you are in a hotel it would be you’re in /rate. I really can’t think of any other industry that would increase their price of goods just because they are reaching out to a different market.

No one suggested to Xander that he add the words 'safe only' . Is that not something people look for?

I think it's pretty common for the prices of goods and services to vary from location to location: Average rents. real estate, gasoline, grocery items and escort prices. My fathers' dentist (in a small, economically-depressed town) charges significantly less than MY local dentist.

Traveling escorts have additional overhead (airfare, hotels, etc.) - it doesn't surprise me when they factor that into their rates. Of course, they run the risk of pricing themselves out of the market unless they have major credentials or are obviously a cut above the local talent. (But then, they also have the novelty factor going for them.)

Escorts visitng my area are typically $50 or so higher than most locals. I'm not sure if that reflects travel overhead or if they're bringing their home-base rate with them.

We've got a home and apartment to pay for back in our home city AND hotels, gas, food etc. to pay for while we are on the road. My in/out rate is the same rate. When an escort is traveling, not only are they giving the service of being available where/when they are usually not, but they are also adding in a layer of discretion due to being able to take in-calls in a hotel (providing complete anonymity). Plus: Supply & demand. Hope that helps..

Red flags: pics that don't give a clear view of the guy's physique or that just show a penis, guys who use pics of hot models from the web instead of their own, guys who only talk about how wonderful they are and say nothing about pleasing or taking care of the client

I like: when a guy talks about serving the client and being there for the client, guys who say they are friendly and personable, guys who mention their interests such as going to bars, or going to concerts, plays, etc., and being an older gentleman it is a huge plus for me when they indicate that they are comfortable with all ages and body types.

You are fortunate to have lucked out with your own experience. One escort I met showed me the multiple reviews he had written himself under different pseudonyms. I didn't have any reason to believe he was just kidding. He went over the different phrases knowingly. After that, I tried to think of different methods of asking, with respect and courtesy, how to ask escorts to show what they looked like. Two different escorts refused to send me a cell phone video of themselves. Both wouldn't say why, but I was polite and indicated no hard feelings, perhaps another time. Another escort refused to "Skype" using video, in a suddenly curt manner. I can recount 3 episodes in a row last year meeting up with escorts who looked entirely different than their photos. I published reviews of them all. After these experiences, I became perplexed and hesitant to hire again. One friend advised that it is best just to hire someone for an hour at first to see what they look like, but that rules out bringing in escorts from other cities. Practical advice is welcome!

BC

The advice to Xander has covered everything that I would look for so I want to mention something to BC here. I've had your same dilemmas but not to your degree. So, I've opted to never hire an escort to travel to me. But I will travel to them AS LONG as I have other things to do on the trip. That way I can set the appointment (time and location) and, if it doesn't work out, I can cut and run and do other things without a huge wasted expense. So far, this has worked well for me.

If the ad mentions videogames, Disney or amusement parks then that's good. Most of the ads talk in long, flowery language about how mature and intelligent and sensitive and erotic they are. It's a long line of standard adjectives that are used interchangeably in other ads as well. IF I see an ad where somebody is not afraid to admit that they like "fun" things and enjoying themselves then it shows me that they are not as stiff as a board and I might enjoy being with them more.
