Congrats rguer! Welcome to the club. I hope you had a hot time with your choice. Sometimes writing the review brings back the encounter vividly, provides more pleasure, and it's off the clock too! ;)

Hopefully, we'll see the details in about two weeks or so. Look forward to it....

I wrote my first review yesterday. It's in the queue, so I suppose it will eventually show up.

Now I understand why reviews are written the way they are.

Welcome, and thanks for writing the review.

I'm curious as to what you mean when you say 'Now I understand why reviews are written the way they are.'

What did you learn in the process of writing the review? (If you've lurked for a while, you probably know that the topic of 'what makes a good review' re-surfaces fairly regularly here.)

Reviews often dance around the topic of what happened in the session. A reader might want to know "How well does he top?", or "Does he kiss?", but I found that difficult to write about when I was one of the actors and knew the escort might later read the review.

Physical descriptions are hard, too. I thought he was a good looking guy, but I can see that he might not be to everyone's taste. How could I convey that without sounding either condescending or insulting? Happily, since your meeting he has put up a new set of pictures which are more representative.

He was my first hire, and he said that he was new at escorting and hadn't had many clients yet. So there were some rough edges around certain things. (For example, I had previously mentioned that I might want to top, but it was digitally obvious that he had never read about anal cleansing, something a more experienced escort might have taken care of. We found other things to do, so it was not a disaster, but still, I didn't get to do everything I wanted to do.) But is it fair to put that in a review, when he might well have learned better by the time any of you hire him?

I had more things I wanted to put in the review, but somehow blanked out while I was writing it. For example, the session was close to being what I think clients here think of as a "boyfriend experience". I'd put it at, say, "after two months of dating". Very nice, about right for me.

There were some other things I could have said that would conceivably make it possible for someone else to figure out who I am (an outside adventure we did). So I had to leave that out, even though it would have described something he likes to do and that you could please him with. (I am very much in the "I'm not happy if you're not happy" school.)

And finally, after it was all over, I realized how unreal the whole thing was. I don't actually have any reason to think that anything he said was true. Maybe he was just very good at figuring out what I wanted to hear, and saying it. That's OK, being an escort is like being an actor playing a role, and he played the role well, but it did leave me with an odd feeling afterwards.

And something else, that definitely shouldn't have been part of the review. I later followed up with email saying I had enjoyed it and asking about the possibility of another session sometime, and never heard back from him; nor did I hear back after I told him I had submitted a review. Two times is enough to try, I think, but he should at least have given me a pro forma response saying he wasn't interested, if that's the case.

But I'd do it again with him, no doubt. He was very affectionate, and that's important to me.

rguer..Congratz on your First Experience Review. Hopefully you will continue to have Positive Hookups!

IF you have not heard back from the "Working Guy" for whatever reason AFTER 2 Emails it's better to just Move On. We don't want to create a Stalker Image!

It's also better after the fact to ask "The Working Guy" IF he wants a Review First before submitting one... There's those who donot want the "Free Publicity" for different reasons...

Thanks for the additional insights.

I do agree that it's sometimes not easy to write a review that will serve both the escort and the readers well (and I'm assuming the escort DOES deserve to be well-served.) Sometimes the review can be a place to offer constructive criticisms, assuming the escort reads it.

I know that sometimes it's diificult or awkward to include details, but I do beiieve that without some statement of the escort actually DID, the value of the review is limited.

Again - thanks for writing the review. :)

Yes, and I considered that possibility, but since he wasn't answering email there's no way to find out. I didn't think I should call him.

A review is merely your impression of your encounter and the escort. There is no right or wrong. Its an opinion which other might gauge their encounter on. Its always best to be honest and truthful, and let the cards fall where they may. The good thing is that the escort has a chance to rebuttal claims you make. I suspect your worry is that although you may have enjoyed your session, and plan to see the escort again, anything less that a Glowing review might negate that "return visit" on the escorts part ? This is just my supposition, otherwise I see no issue in "telling it like it is"...

Congrats on your entry into the wonderful world of Reviews.....

It's more that I'm squeamish about describing my own sex life. I'd certainly see him again if the opportunity arose, but that would require him to return email.

Since this was your first hire and he is a newbie too, you're fortunate that this turned out to be a good experience, sufficient to justify a repeat performance. Kudos to you for having success on your first hire. You'll be a pro in no time....hehehe

And assuming you're a reasonable client with regard to hygiene and respect for him, if he doesn't reply to you to schedule again, then he aint too bright, and doesn't understand the value of a repeat customer.

Yes, congratulations on your first review. It took me a while before I did my first also and not because I couldn't have - I just wasn't ready to write about my experience. JJ is correct - the review is a snapshot of how the experience made you feel and as such there is no right or wrong on how to write about it. I too understand your reticence to write about your sex life (I feel the same way), and after all, you're not writing a pitch scenario for a porno flick (even though I enjoy reading those type reviews when they show up!). I find that the sexual part of the experience is somewhat limited - there's only so much that you can do together. And what really makes for a superlative experience, in my opinion, is the connection that you make with the guy and that has nothing to do with dick size or sexual technique - it's about the escort and you creating your own chemistry for the moment.

You're a braver man than I was when I began hiring. My first hire was a well-reviewed stud in Hooboy's stable 12 years ago. You hired Justin without the benefit of any reviews to guide your selection. Glad you had a good time. I also notice he lists himself as "bi". That's an automatic disqualifier for me to hire an unreviewed stud. While I have branched out and take chances on many unreviewed guys, I don't take the initial plunge on any newbies who list themselves as bi, mostly straight, or straight; I let others, such as yourself, blaze the trail on those boys. Then, when the record of top-notch performance is clear, I schedule their company. For example, I would never have hired great guys like the AJ's, Justice and Irons, both of whom advertise as "bi", without the benefit of reviews. And man oh man, were those some spot on recommendations.

Hope you have and enjoy many more hires!

Jjkrkwood makes a number of excellent points. The only thing I would add is that many of us who write and read reviews rely heavily on the self-description of the reviewer to add relevance to a review. I am 71 years old. A review written by a 35 year old holds far less relevance for me than one written by someone in my age category. The same might be said for a client who is heavy or handicapped.

Straight or mostly straight would be a disqualifier for me also. I asked about "bi" in this forum before I hired, and the consensus was that "bi" in an ad might be true, or it might be a marketing ploy, and there's no way to know. I didn't ask him, but he was certainly gay enough.

We had traded email beforehand, and it was clear that even if he wasn't gay enough he'd be pleasant to hang out with for a while.
