Okay here I am in DC again for work...seems I am here a lot and when I travel I like to let off some hot and sweaty steam and hire someone.

 

This DC trip came upon me very quickly and usually I have adequate time to contact an escort, email back and forth, book him well in advance I am very anal about advance bookings) and take some time to speak on the phone beforehand.

 

This time I did not have that luxury.

 

Therefore inbetween meetings I resorted to going to BackPage and looked at what it had to offer....a first for me.

 

The first call I made the escort told me he had not been in DC for two weeks and was now in Dallas. Not only a tad too far for an outcall for him but I told him his ad was posted the same day I was calling. He just laughed and hung up on me.

 

The second one I called I was greeted with a phone message that said his "mailbox was not yet set up"...so I moved on.

 

The third one I callled told me he wanted $400 an hour and when I told him that was way too much he said "well thanks for wasting my time"....all two minutes of it.

 

The fourth one I called began a rant of all of the things he would NOT do and by the end of his rant I (well rather sarcastically) asked...what does he do? He too hung up on me.

 

Okay...one final call and the fifth guy had the audacity to tell me that if we did not have "chemisty" nothing would happen but he would still expect to be paid...this time I hung up.

 

What is with these guys that advertise on Back Page?

 

Someone should teach these Back Page guys a course on escorting....I know that for myself it is the last time I will ever waste my time on this resource

I browse the Atlanta listings occasionally, but I have never viewed one ad that even remotely stirred any interest in my heads, my brain nor my loins. It's dominated by thugs here, of course, that's a summation of the larger escort scene in ATL, but words like "hustler" or "thief" flash across my mind when viewing backpage.

Did you try contacting the guys on Daddy's or one of the more reputable sites? I would think someone would be able to accommodate you for a last minute session. Plus you get the benefit of reviews to look at. Good luck and stay safe.

The usual anti-Backpage propaganda shitstorm flows deeply today. As a satisfied multiple hire customer of LA Backpage, it's in my daily rotation, along with RB, CL, A4A, M4RN, DR and MER. I've had some good and great experiences, and recommended it to friends who were also satisfied. There are guys of all ethnic persuasions, pros and first-time amateurs alike, so a little something for everybody. And a lot of straight guys seeking female customers, so if the ad doesn't mention a male target audience, you may be in for an awkward call. The LA BP has gotten quite popular, so many of the Rentboy/M4RN crew place "discount" ads there as they travel around.

 

If you've got $300+/hour to burn on a top-shelf "Experience" by all means, Rentboy awaits you, but if you're looking for some hot part-timer, student or semipro action with more flexibility and better rates, BP, CL and A4A are what's mainly available, if anyone can add to this list, I'd be excited to hear. Take prudent precautions and have fun!

I wouldn't call anyone's recounting of their experience 'propaganda' any more that I would your endorsement. Your positive experience doesn't invalidate the negative experiences of others - nor do their experiences invalidate yours. I believe all of you - which seems to imply that some locations (pages) are better than others.

 

The offerings on the page for my city are 80% 'thugs' (at least that's the persona presented) and probably 20% 0f those are 'women or couples only'. And considering there are probably less than 10 'current ads' at any one time...well, not much there to choose form, really. :(

I wouldn't call it 'propaganda' either if it weren't so often some hearsay pile-on about cops stalking and "human trafficking" (yea, so many human trafficked male escorts I've run across) and all the rest of the vague "sleazy disease-ridden hustler site... stay AWAY, STAY AWAY" nonsense that sometimes passes for "recommendations" around these parts. Pro career protectionism, yea, I get it, just wish they'd spend more time extolling their own virtues instead of eviscerating the other guys.

You're pulling the race card out of nowhere. No, not all black escorts present themelves as 'thugs' - as I said, it's a persona. But it is certainly prevalent on my local backpage. My point was, there's no diversity (unlike the situation you report)- only one 'flavor' essentially. My 'regular' guy for three years was a black college student. But the thug persona doesn't appeal to me - nor do Caucasians with lots of piercing or a grunge look.

I've been checking out the BP ads in Boston recently, and here too, the majority of the ads are what I'd absolutely call the black "thug" type. And the ads tend to copy one another's style and wording - most of the headlines/links are "tagged" and otherwise decorated in similar ways - lots of them advertise "fantasies and fetishs [sic]" as if those 2 things are always supposed to be grouped together. Bad spelling is the norm, and there's a similar "attitude" in the ads.

 

There are a very few ads from white guys. A few people I've seen on Daddy's or rentboy do post there as well, so at least some of the ads feel legit. But mostly it seems more like a bad joke or something with all those copycat thug ads.

 

It's funny - it reminds me of a free phone hook-up line that was around in Boston a decade ago, before the phone lines strated giving way to the internet hookup sites. In the last year or so that that phone line was in existence, it somehow shifted to be mostly, again, african-american "thug" or "on the DL" types, when it hadn't been that way before. I'm not sure if it was the way the line was being marketed or what - but it was very strange the way all of a sudden the majority of callers were young tuff-sounding black guys looking for something "on the DL." (That's "down low" for those of you not familiar with the term, lol - code for "I want you to think I'm straight even though I like dudes" lol.)

 

I took a chance and emailed a BP guy the other night - we've exchanged a few emails but I doubt this is going anywhere, considering he claims to be 26 but types like a 4-year old, or perhaps a 26-year-old on serious drugs, lol. I have a feeling I've already learned my lesson.

No propaganda on my part, just one man's observations, but I'm totally cool with being proven wrong. So, come on over to ATL, spend a few days, book several of the BP studs here in the local market, then come back to Daddy's and tout your success stories. Hot hot hot times for sure, eh?

 

But if ATL doesn't fit in your work/travel schedule, perhaps you could scan my local listings, and post some links to the "diamonds in the rough" that I may have missed. Always looking for new leads on satisfying studs.

I read this too quickly at first and thought "BP" was a reference to me. I was all I do not type like I am 4! :-)

 

I agree with the assessment that most of the ads in Boston are presenting themselves as thugs, but I think that has more to do with who they see BP's readers being. There is a little crossover:

Thanks to your patient tutelage, I do see the error of my ways, I've been taking all the nationwide criticisms of Backpage, applying them to my local version (LA) and commenting on the disconnect, though I've also had good success with SF, San Diego, Phoenix and Dallas. The New Mexico, Utah and Oregon BPs are pretty much devoid of life, Louisiana isn't much better, and I haven't really had the opportunity to use it in the east as my "little black book" network of former hires and occasional Daddy pros has kept me satiated and sassy while there.

 

My best successes have been placing my own "generous daddy seeks..." ads but then I have to winnow through all the bogus responses (I totally feel for you guys...). I haven't been ballsy enough to include my Google phone # but I haven't really needed to, one ad placement has netted 30+ replies. I just wish there were more of me (as a test driver) to go around :cool:, as a "specialist" I tend to want to find the virtuosos and stick with them.

Raife....You are fortunate indeed, having success with BP on the west coast. If I had access to some hot, "hungry" surfers, actors, and college boys, I'd pounce on 'em too. Alas, they are in short supply in my neck of the woods.....
