Client contacts me several times, uses awful grammar and punctuation, including the word "hottt." Has an email address that is for a website of a business. Changes up the city he's contacting me from repeatedly. Doesn't seem to have firm plans to be in town: "I maybe coming," and "I'm trying to stay at..." Has a phone number that people complain online about as being a spam-dialer.

Well, in his favor he DOES have a Facebook page. But he's also supposed to be a businessman and under LinkedIn he has ONE contact. So apparently he's not a very good businessman. Or rather—his business isn't very hottt right now.

 

UPDATE: And apparently he likes Sarah Palin and hates Katie Couric. That's a dealbreaker.

Well I found his wife on Facebook, and while she looks nice—her posts sounds rather skeevy to me. And I would never trust anyone who is the "president" of their company but can't spell or use proper grammar.

 

Or who uses aliases according to Beenverified.com.

Skeevy wife definitely settles it. If this guy married someone like that, you definitely don't want him in your bed. And you're right that anyone who claims to be the president of his company ought to be able to spell and use proper grammar. Unless, of course, it is a skeevy company designed to appeal to the skeevy elements of society.

 

P.S. Because I used the word "skeevy" multiple times in my post, I wanted to verify my understanding of its meaning. I love Urban Dictionary, and the first example provided in the most popular definition told me all I need to know.

Beenverified is actually great for determining if someone is likely telling the truth, but for some reason they have raised a red flag. If someone seems suspicious but a number of facts match (location, age, etc), then they get a green light. The client mentioned above checks out with BV.com as being a real person—and his comment on a message board followed the same sort of grammar that he used in my emails. The only problem (besides being wishy-washy about whether he's coming or not) is the phone number that seems to be a scam, according to a bunch of people online.
