I do believe this has been discussed B4. I'll ask again. What do escorts feel about clients that have physical/body scarring. Is it a matter of how significant the scars may be...where they may be...? What is your definition of significant??? I'll give myself as an example. I have what many would call significant scarring. From a head burn, (face was spared) to the knee. Quite a road map, with many side trips in between from a few gut surgeries. Do clients inform escorts of this? I personally feel it is part of the integrated me. I had significant battles that I survived, and these are the evidence. Sooo, how would I feel about the reverse? I really would not care. Scars, and caring for individuals with injuries from head to toe had been part of my life. It's just part of their life. Interested in your responses. Rand

... Do clients inform escorts of this?

I'm obviously not an escort but I can tell you what I do as a client.

I have a very nasty scar on my leg (about 15 inches) from an accident. I've also lost over 100 lbs and now have to deal with an excess skin issue.

I'm very honest with the escort about my imperfections. I don't want to hire a guy that is uncomfortable with my body.

I've not had an escort indicate it was ever a problem. But, I was much more relaxed when they showed up because I knew I had disclosed my "imperfections". They probably didn't care. But, it put me more at ease.

It doesn't bother me in the least as long as I know ahead of time. It is always better to be up front about such things to avoid the shock when the clothes come off. If I don't know ahead of time I might look shocked or confused and then I feel bad about it. I have two scars, one on my ankle where a tractor nearly removed my foot and as a result I have significantly decreased sensation. I don't tell people about that one unless the express a specific interest in my feet. The other is next to my ass hole from a surgery I had to have. You can't even really tell it is a scar, I can tell cause I spent a lot of time bent over looking in the mirror growing up.

There is a fairly well known escort who specifically says on his website that he does not like to discuss rates or services by email or phone. Which means that not a lot gets communicated prior to the initial meeting. How is one supposed to handle physical limitations in this situation?

No matter who the escort is...."he ain't all that!" Pass him by, and move on to someone professional enough to handle business in a respectful manner.

I don't think refusal to discuss activities before hand (which many escorts do with first time clients for legal reasons) prevents a client from letting the escort know that he has body image issues. You can tell someone that you feel awkward when you get to know new people because you have a distinctive appearance without implying that you are paying for sex. Even if the scarring isn't visible when you are fully clothed, you can tell the escort about the scarring and explain that you want him to be prepared so that he isn't surprised when he meets you. He will understand your desire to share such information to ensure a good fit if he is a professional. If he isn't a professional or if he isn't the right escort for you, then he will reveal that and save you from wasting time and money.

Babies may have flawless skin, but the rest of us have our personal histories written on our bodies. My dermatologist (who is also a plastic surgeon) will point to something and say, "Are you OK with that?" Most of the time I say, "Sure, it adds some character to my image." Of course, if someone actually asks about the scar on my cheek, I just tell them it's a dueling scar (...OK, so I embellish a bit).

I think you've answered your own question, at least as far as most professional escort would go. Having been doing this off and on for years, I've seen a wide range of physical (as well as functional) "imperfections." None of us get out this place alive, as the cliche goes, and pretty much everybody picks up scars of some sort along the way. As we get older, it's not unusual to have scars from accidents, military service, health conditions... just life taking its toll. Sometimes it's more dramatic than other times, but if it's an established escort chances are he's seen his share and can deal with it.

It can be helpful to have a heads-up beforehand, but there have been times where I've encountered a surprise "in the field" and needed to just deal with it. Fortunately there are lots of things two guys can do together. My preference would be to get info beforehand but it's not a requirement. If a guy balks at your disclosure, better to find out sooner than later and move on to the next one.

Hi Rand,

I had a few clients with a tiny scar. That doesn't really make a difference to me. I remember one guy with a bigger scar. I thought "wow, a scar", but I banned the thought out of my mind and we had big fun.

I also remember a client who was paralyzed at one side because he had had a stroke. He had bed-sores at one side, not a pretty view. Again my first reaction was "oops", but after a few seconds my reaction was "okay, let's do what we planned to do and have fun". Nevertheless I didn't want to touch the sores.

I remember another client who had bad breath. Not just a bit, but a clear bad breath. In that case there was no way I could kiss him. However, doing all sort of other things was no problem at all.

In my case it helps if I know it in advance. Then I'm prepared and I can focus better on what I'm there for. :p

I hope this answers a bit!

Sincerely, Anton.

I've only had one client whose health issues were so bad that I would not consider seeing him again. I wish he had told me up front because I have a tendency to overestimate and likely would have thought "oh, it's not nearly as bad as you said" instead of "ah, you're very ill and might die in my bed."

I had a session with a client come to screeching halt when the clothes came off and I became worried for my own health. He is an older gentleman with no family here, I set him up with the gay health center here and even took him to his appointment. I haven't heard from him since.

Any genuine escort should not be bothered by your scarring.

I see disabled clients in wheelchairs. Your physical appearance should not the concern of an escort. There's a great website over here called TLC which is for escorts who advertise themselves especially to see guys with physical and disability problems and it's a huge success with a certain type of client.

Again, it shouldn't be a problem to a professional escort

Scars: They signify that you were alive. That you have history and encountered battle victoriously or in defeat but are still alive to tell others coming up behind you about it~ Be proud of them~ Wear them with honor~ They are part of the Beauty of YOU~!!! Never sell yourself short~!!! Don;t let anyone else sell you short either~!

Hi, Rand. I've never had an issue with the appearance of scars on my client's bodies. I have, however, out of curiosity asked them if they had surgery where the scar is. My concern has always been in taking care not to apply too much pressure in that area or in some other way hurt them in that area during sex. One of my clients has a history of melanoma and has had surgery that left scars on his back and other places, so I am always automatically careful when touching those areas of his body, so as not to hurt him. If a potential client were to inform me that they had significant scarring, I would be glad to know what to expect, but it certainly wouldn't change my desire to be hired by them.

There is no one without scars~ The ones on the outside are the ones you can see. The ones on the inside are not always quite so obvious~ No ones is without scars~ It would be a rare and extraordinary person who would be in a position to judge for having them~

Thanks Tyger,

As you are aware, I have a scar from a surgical procedure last year and I am DAMN PROUD OF IT. I think of it as my survivor's badge. It has not been a problem at all with any of the great working guys I've had the pleasure of spending time with the last 12 months.
