I saw an advertisement on backpage that had a pic that I just feel I have seen before but can't place it. I have never used backpage before so I am ultra careful in meeting anyone advertising there. Considering the availability of decent guys in my city or nearby, this one seemed interesting to me (although perhaps a little on the young side). So anyone recognize this guy? Thanks in advance

If you google his phone number he is "new to" almost everywhere. On March 8 he was "new to" Baltimore and Northern, NJ. I don't know what his deal is or who he might be, or wish to become, But my advice is be very, very careful. Something's rotten in the various states of Denmark.

I think your question is valid and I'll try to be specific about my concerns. And these may be my own hangups so it may or may not seem reasonable to others.

 

Not so worried about contacting him, and in fact I did make contact with him. He swears up and down that the pics are legit, even after presented with the evidence to the contrary. So in my view he is being dishonest about that so I have no confidence in whatever he will say. Will he actually be there when I show up? What will he actually look like and will that be attractive to me? Will he deliver what he says he will if we were to meet?

 

Other concerns, most of which you touched upon, is to some degree concern about a sting, potential age issue and being set up to be robbed or worse. Sometimes it is possible to walk away from certain situations but others are not so easy.

 

At the end of the day, I much prefer and have almost always relied on reviews to address concerns. As I've never hired off of backpage, my level of concern is raised and frankly anything that even smells of something amiss will turn me away. My loss perhaps but then again I try not to let my little head do all my thinking for me.
