Its quite obvious that alot of members here avail themselves of massage. I myself have NEVER had a massage....

Until I joined this site, I always thought a massage was just a massage, some therapeutic thing guys get to relax.... Being on this site has educated me, enough so to ask the following question:

Do you get a massage for massage sake, OR is it more "sexually" motivated and considered a cheaper alternative than hiring an escort ?

If I was to judge by member posts on this site, I would say its the latter. So you honest replies would be appreciated.

Perhaps this thread belongs in the Spa, so Daddy is free to move it.

I spend too much time hunched over a computer crunching numbers and reading spreadsheets, don't sit like I should with the best posture, and absolutely love massage. A great one can improve how I feel, how tall I stand, and how well I sleep at night. My straight older brother took me to my first spa for my first massage. I confess that I prefer male therapists, and have had both therapeutic and sensual. I get a therapeutic, deep tissue, Thai massage from the same guy every 3 weeks for about 10 years now. He is a great friend and an incredible therapist. My health and outlook wouldn't be the same without him. Yes, he is hot and incredibly attractive, but his hands are miraculous. I enjoy the sensual aspect of massage and the "perks" occaisionally, but it is a pale comparison to good sex.

I only buy therapeutic only sessions. normally deep tissue. when I hire I look at education and experience. Most of my clients hire for therapeutic as the main factor & view the sensual or erotic as a bonus. Most of my clients would never hire anyone that lacked in therapeutic area. I also prefer not to take those clients who only seek a sensual or erotic experience who don't care about a real massage. Reading the spa section of this site I think those who post there only care about looks since 99% of the guys normally listed have no real education in massage, And looks is whats normally mentioned in the posts. I also feel when one hires based on looks alone they deserve their experience good or bad...

BY PERKS, i WOULD ASSUME YOU MEAN A "HAPPY ENDING " ??? And I think thats exactly my point; in my mind if a massage is meant to be strictly therapeutic, there should be NO option for perks.

I hire for both the theraputic and "other" attributes of a massage. I usually book a 90 minute session about once a month, although an hour is O.K. For me, a massage session is something that I want for both relaxation and recreation and it takes a while to find someone who is both good at what they do and understanding. There are a couple of masseurs that I see in Houston on a regular basis, so I guess that I am considered a "good" client--they know what to expect from me and I know what to expect from them. I fully recognize the difference between a massage appointment and an appointment with an escort (and the price reflects that difference very well).

Id love to be fully booked weekly giving strictly therapeutic only sessions. Thing is a male massage therapist has to market himself 3 times as hard as a female. It's very difficult for a male to make a living doing strictly therapeutic only sessions. Unless you work in a spa or medical facility, And some of those places won't hire men. Unless you live in LA Newyork where people are more open minded. I had a friend once totally str8 and he gave massage he hated giving a release but he had a child to support and for 2 years he did it until he was offered a job in SF at a upscale spa then he left at Atlanta.

Sometimes I get strictly therapeutic massage and sometimes I get sensual massage. I don't look at sensual massage as a cheaper alternative to sex because it isn't sex for me (though I've run into a couple of escorts on massage sites who don't seem to understand that there is a difference). I generally prefer all massages I receive to happen on a table. I've met one guy who gives a very relaxing sensual massage on a bed, and I make allowances for him. But otherwise I always ask if the masseur has a table, which lets him know that I'm looking for a real massage and not just sex.

In terms of the intimate aspects of sensual massage, I differentiate it from sex because it is a different type of connection for me. Touching without kissing and being touched and rubbed gives me a different kind of pleasure than sex, even when I cum at the end of the massage. And when I want a massage, I also tell the masseur to focus on certain areas to work the muscles (usually lower back/glutes or shoulders) and the primary purpose is to relieve muscle soreness/spasms. Having said that, I have had massage sessions that turn into more sexual/escort-type sessions, and I often schedule longer sessions with escorts who advertise massage and begin the session with a massage. But even in those cases, I want a real massage during the massage portion of the session.

Ah, a subject dear to my heart! I have a guy who I go to once every 3-4 weeks for therapeutic massage. He does an amazing blend of deep tissue, sports, and thai massage and I feel like a new man afterwards. I also go to a few regulars for sensual/erotic type massages intermittently. However, the sensual masseurs are all certified as well, and almost as good technically as my main guy. I'm not going to a sensual massage as an alternative to sex. It's a very unique experience all it's own. There's something about being able to melt into a table, get pampered, petted, and worked over by a hot guy, turn over, and proceed to the "happy ending" of your choice. It's kind of a self-centered indulgence since it's not quite interactive. The masseur is spending an hour pleasuring me while I lay there and purr and occasionally bat at him with my paw. Ok, scratch that last image.

Yes, full on sex is more sexually satisfying and I've rarely had full on sex with a masseur I've hired. When that happened, it was always an addendum to the massage experience, rather than incorporated into it. So it's still escorts for sex and companionship and masseurs for massage as far as I'm concerned. It just depends on what type of massage I want. No matter what type of massage, the masseur needs to know what he's doing or it completely detracts from the experience for me. After all, if what I really wanted was sex, why wouldn't I hire an escort?

I get both, but I'm always open (well, hoping) it turns into something else. One of my biggest turn-ons is when the masseur is tentatively pushing the limits to see how far I'll go. Usually it's pretty far. ;-)

I've done both therapeutic and sensual massages. I usually turn to sensual when there are no escorts available. But not being able to kiss or really be with the other guy does bother me.

From what I hear, Kissing is limited amongst Escorts too ! Their cock up your ass is OK, but their lips on yours, not so much !

If you're curious about real massage see if there's a local massage therapy school in your area. They are always looking for volunteers for their students to train on. Rates are typically very cheap and the massage is usually quite good.

The massage will be conducted to State licensing standards. No hanky-panky. But if you have NEVER had a real massage - give it a try.

I've always wanted to be a guinnea pig for something. Whats the worst that could happen ? Paralyzed for Life ??? (but at least i'll be relaxed)

you have a greater chance of being Paralyzed for Life my hiring someone with no training or licensing off one of the one line sites less than 5% of those are trained. than from someone at a massage school. that's why a constantly tell people to only hire trained massage therapists. you can be damaged for life if a person doesn't know what they are doing.

When I hire a masseur, I'm usually looking for a "real" massage, but, being human, I often take the hotness of the masseur into account in making my selection. On several occasions, this has yielded a guy who obviously doesn't know anything about massage, and is really there for a discount escort experience. When I realize this, and figure out that its not going to be a good massage, I "go with the flow" and let the session go in the sexual direction. Under the circumstances, its the best option, since there's no way a good massage is going to happen from the guy.

It has crossed my mind that some of these guys basically want to be escorts, but aren't professional enough to accept whatever age and shape of clients come to them. By advertising message, they can do the escort thing if the client isn't too repulsive to them, but can provide "just a massage" to guys that they don't have chemistry with. When they've been hired as a "masseur" the client can't really complain too much if sex is off the table.

How do you know if they have training? If escorts fake pictures, they can certainly fake credentials. I wouldn't know what questions to ask. I could ask where they got their training, but I don't know anything about massage schools so that wouldn't tell me anything.

on massage m4m and masseur finder to get a symbol that says verified certified I had to show them a copy of my certification. I also keep a framed copy of my license in the room here. another way. asked them for their license number if in doubt. then google state board of massage and search that number. It will pull up their info. If a persons truly licensed they won't care if you know the number.. Ask if they work on a table. other than Thai massage any licensed massage therapist will have a table. nothing perfect and some will slip through and yes some will lie. A client told me the other day he only hired licensed massage therapist & I know for a fact one of the guys her hired is not a licensed massage therapist..

I always wondered about that. Does your license certificate have your real name? I've had some masseurs refuse to show me their license, citing the need to be discreet and not reveal their given name. It is always a deal breaker for me if they can't provide proof. I even had one "therapist" give me a license number that ended up being 5 characters too long. Needless to say, I did not avail myself of his services. :)

Yup a massage license has your real first and last name. I've seen ads on line with license numbers that were fake as well. if you were to check a persons license number on a massage board data base it pulls up first name, last name and where they currently live, when the license was issued and when it expires. one thing id ad licensed doesn't always mean certified either. some states when they start mandatory licensing will grandfather people in for a short period. example ga started licensing in 2007. they grandfathered everyone a license that could prove they provided massage the last 2 years or longer by providing a tax return. however to keep that license they and any other licensed massage therapist has to take 18hrs of education every 2 years.. the grandfather period was only for like 1 year in 2007. anyone after that has to take 500hrs of schooling and pass a national exam.. the hrs vary from state to state.. i think new york req the most hrs

Hmmm, that's very good to know. As you mentioned before, it's too easy to be injured by an untrained, unlicensed massage therapist. I certainly have been though thankfully nothing drastic or permanent. It's good info to have and I don't feel guilty about screening potential therapists one bit. At least, unlike us singers, therapists don't have to audition. ;)

If you hire off massage m4m look for ads that have the blue symbol that says verified certified. or if you use masseur finder look at the ad and in the top left corner look for a red symbol that says certified. those masseurs submitted proof of training too the site to get those symbols

I only get massages occasionally and only therapeutic. At least around here, there isn't anyone offering sensual massage that I would want to even touch, let alone touch me. And although I'll drive a couple of hours to see my favorite escorts, I'm not sure driving 2 hours each way makes much sense for a massage.

I don't know about other areas, but we have a couple of massage studios around here. They offer monthly memberships that cover a massage a month, and if you want more, you get a greatly reduced rate. They have both male and female masseurs and offer all the variations on style and added extras (hot stone, deep tissue, sports, Swedish, etc.). They are located in busy shopping centers and are as clean as any medical facility I've been to. They offer a really good intro price for the first massage. The first one I went to was advertising at my local gym (what a great place to advertise for massage therapists).

I'm treating myself to a massage next Thursday morning just before I fly to PS for the big weekend. This is another place much like the first. And even though it is strictly therapeutic, at least I feel I'm supporting a business that supports the LGBT community. Because they were one of the title sponsors for a fundraiser for Freedom to Marry in town a month or two ago. This is a franchise operation with many locations around the country. Every one is a CMT so you know you are getting a well trained masseur. If interested, their website address is http://www.massageenvy.com

Both places offer an introductory, 60 minute massage for only $39. Monthly fees run between $60 and $80 which includes one massage, with more massages discounted considerably.

Although one funny thing about massage. One of our friends was messing around and asked Siri on his i-phone where he

could get a blow job. Siri came back with a list of nearby massage parlors. :)

When hiring masseurs, the massage always comes first. If the massage is just a rub and tug I won't be back. I always ask whether they use a table or a bed - if they don't use a table its a red flag, although there is one guy who gives a decent swedish massage who used a table when I first started seeing him who has switched to the bed, mostly because he travels so much and the hotel room layout can be problematic . I hire sometimes for sensuous, but also have also found some reputable therapeutic guys who really can work wonders, and one guy who was extraordinarily well trained, really easy on the eyes and just my type too, unfortunately retired. I've had wonderful results over the years with some issues that I can say the trained masseurs did more for me than my doctor. The really good ones can just feel when something isn't right and get in there and fix it. The last massage I had, had some leg issues which he worked on for quite awhile and then when I flipped over and he was doing my chest and abdomen, he said he felt one of my lymph nodes in the abdomen didn't feel right so did a LDM technique on it. I hadn't mentioned it to him because compared to the leg issues it was very minor, but I was having some intermittant discomfort in the area and as soon as he drained it the discomfort went away. So I am really hooked and get a therapeutic massage at least once a month. While some of the deeper modalities can be downright painful while they are being done-the reason you really need someone who knows what they are doing- but invariably I feel much better later. A swedish type, on the other hand, can be so relaxing I've actually nodded off with guys I've seen for a long time and the stress just seems to melt away. And a happy ending can be a fantastic bonus.
