While perusing the last weeks' reviews on Daddys this am a thought struck me that there has been a tremendous sea change in the biz recently. We are no longer a , "cookie cutter, " biz. I see ads from black guys and white guys----smooth guys and hairy guys---young twinks and mature studs----cute hot guys and, well, dare i say it????average and non hot guys (in the traditional sense of the word.) I think this is great and long over due. I mean there have always been exceptions in porn and in escorting but now it seems that the biz is truly offering EVERY type of guy realizing that the marketplace is demanding it. Some clients just don't go for the smooth young twink/twunk look. As a result of this what is beginning to happen is more and more callboys (i love that old term) are seeing the biz as an actual career instead of just a temporary thing to pay for college or avoid being homeless. It seems the biz is going mainstream and is slowly being accepted socially in some parts of the gay community. (Hookie awards, etc. as one example) one more thought from the front lines: What is it about southEAST FLorida that produces so many illegal DRUG calls??? That is something I have never done and never will do. Not refering to weed but to the hard killer drugs. I can go anywhere on tour and not get one drug call but when I advertise for even one day in Miami I get slammed by these calls. I have never been a guy to say in my ad what I don't do. I prefer to be a nice, happy attitude free guy and talk about what I like in my ads but it seems as if I am going to have to write, "No illegal drugs," in my ad copy. I hate doing that cause when you start listing what you won't do it turns new clients off. http://www.rentboy.com/mikey9nola1

For as far back as I can remember, there has always been a variety to choose from, although maybe not a huge Variety. Styles and looks of guys coincide to trends. Currently, you see alot of gym built smooth guys. Back in the 80's it was the village people look, with hairy guys, staches and cutoff denim hotpants... Escorting as a business, to me at least seems LESS

underground and more mainstream these days, and while alot of the offerings are scams or fakes, there are alot of genuine guys out there that either NEED the money or like the work, or a combination of both to satisfy Every clients desires or fantasies. As the saying goes, its the OLDEST profession, the guys just change packaging.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with saying no illegal drugs in a ad. I personally wouldn't want those types of clients. I've had run ins with a few massage clients showing up and start sniffing poppers on my massage table. i don't care if that's sold legally they never asked me if it's okay to pull that crap out. and in my own fucking home. I take it way from them put it on the counter and return it after the massage. if they don;t want too ever come back then to hell with them

Personally, the more do's and dont's the escorts lists, the clearer the picture is of WHO he is and less preliminary dialog becomes neccesary. Its also better to have things in print so there are absolutely NO misunderstandings about "But you said .........".

Of course, things can change at the meetup, for example an acquaintance of mine hired an escort for his claims of AWESOME fucking skills, but when they got down to business, the escort refused to fuck him claiming the client was NOT "properly prepared" . Kudos to the escort and shame on the client.... These are the things that might have been discussed beforehand, although you would think you wouldnt need to tell a bottom that he needed to come "prepared"....

I haven't gotten a single "drug" call since I had an ad in the SE Florida region, although you've been around longer than I. I'm not surprised, however I have had a few sporadic ask me if they can do poppers or if I do them (ummm, no let's go huff some paint thinner and spray paint while we're at it).

Personally, I think it IS important to list what's good/bad (not every little detail) but to an extent, it will help narrow down the guys you never would've seen anyway.
