Gerre Hancock, organist and choirmaster at St Thomas Church New.York for more than three decades died last week. A memorial service at St Thomas tomorrow at 11AM. They will webcast the service at their website. St Thomas Church has the only church related boy choir school left on this side of the Atlantic and under Dr Hancock's direction remained a bulwark of this rich Anglican tradition. It should be a moving service for those of brought up in this tradition and for the many choirs bool alum who sang under his skilled direction. I commend it to you.
