Okay guys, have 2 questions for you.

1. If I have a trip planned to your city and would like to hire you for an evening while I'm there, how far in advance should I contact you? (i.e. a week, a month, etc).

2. What is the earliest acceptable time of day to call you? I figure that frequently you work late and I wouldn't want to call and wake you up.

Thanks!

I think anywhere from a week to a couple of days is good—but in all honesty, the majority of clients now call me the day of, or the night before. I think the trend is for business trips to be only a day at most, and lots of travelers don't get confirmation that the trip is happening until the night before coming into town. Anything longer than a week = "Sorry bud, I don't know my schedule that far in advance and something might come up with work/school/family/travel/etc." And more often than not, the client's trip schedule is the one that changes, not mine.

And I use voicemail, so you can call 1-800-Wuh-Hore at any old time.

Good questions both. I prefer shorter notice, the less of a chance for schedule changes. Perhaps one week out is good. Personally, if you're not looking for right now, I prefer not to be called before noon. But since you're booking in advance, why not email first, giving him your number and an idea of when it's good to call you, so that he knows you're serious and he can respond at a time convenient for both?

From a clients perspective, I think the longer the better, especially if the escort is popular and prone to be booked up. I recently did a trip to Lauderdale and I wanted to make sure that two escorts that I knew were going to be booked would be available to me. I booked probably over a month in advance and was glad I did. Communication over that month was via e-mail and was very easy and pleasant.

Personally, I prefer to be contacted well in advance that way I know what my school/study schedule will be beforehand so that I know if I can/can't get together or can make the necessary adjustments to my schedule. I know that some guys prefer to be contacted the day-of, however I don't like last minute arrangments.

At least a couple of days to a week ahead I say would be good. As for calling I would say almost anytime, if the escort you are hiring can't answer then leave a message and he will get back or better yet send a text message.

Texting has been debated ad nauseam on this board. I maintain that I've almost never had anyone who texted me about meeting up a week later actually show up. My vote goes against sending a text to someone you've never met.

Agree with not texting. I usually contact guys by email a few days in advance (Monday) and usually i give them a few day's time frame for my availability (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). If I don't hear back by Wednesday morning or so, i'll try calling and make my appointment. Usually for conferences, i travel to fairly large convention cities, so i have a few favorite guys that i like to see, so there's no real guess work for me....unless there's some "fresh meat" that is enticing enough for me to try!

I have the most success calling a week to 3 days prior. Prior to that escorts do not take you seriously. Recently I made a date with an escort a week ahead and confirmed it a couple of days ahead. When I met him he said he was surprised because most long term dates don't pan out. On the other hand, trying to meet on the day I contact doesn't work well. Most will not respond, and as I said in another thread, they rely on putting their cell calls on hold until the evening and then you are just one of a bunch of calls. I usually hire when I travel on vacation. I choose the one I most want to meet and email him a week ahead with a proposed time and place. I usually decide on the basis of the ad and don't ask a bunch of questions.

I strongly prefer texting or email to schedule. I use a Google voice account to text that is integrated with my email. It's much easier for me to remember times and dates offered and accepted if I have something in writing that I can refer to. Also, finding time to call an escort is difficult because I'm almost always around other people. Much easier to have discreet conversations in writing because no one needs to see what I type.

I've often wondered how long is too long to contact and escort that I wish to see when I know I will be traveling to his location. In a few instances, I've e-mailed four to five weeks in advance to see if the guy would "pencile me in" for the particular date and, thus far, most guys have responded pretty quickly to let me know that they would be available while I was in town. Most times, we kept in contact by e-mail once a week or so. That gave us the opportunity to get to know each other a bit and make sure we were on the same page as far as expectations, likes, dislikes, etc. The guys did not seem to mind. On only one occasion, my trip fell through after I had set a date and I let the escort know as soon as I could. He seemed to understand completely and was happy to reschedule.

Since most of the guys I've hired have been traveling, and since I know most of them, I set things up as soon as they announce they are going to be in DC. Most times it's a few weeks to a month or more ahead of the date.

But back in my newbie days, I contacted one guy about 4 months ahead of schedule (since he's based in DC). Of course he shrugged me off at that point. But a few weeks before hand I did set it up for that date and saw him on the day I first proposed 4 months earlier. I saw him for the 12th time yesterday. Now when I see him, I normally set it up 2-3 weeks ahead of time. But I now know that if you're seeing someone for the first time and it's someone you haven't met before, a week is probably enough.

It really varies as is evident here. If someone has announced they'll be in your town or have started to advertise their travel, I take that as a sign that they are taking appointments, esp. if they are well known and likely to be fully booked quickly. OTOH, the consensus seems to be that unless you're booking a long hire (say, a weekend), you'll be taken more seriously if you book no more than a few days to a week in advance. I also always ask the best way to confirm an appointment--some want the day before, some the day of appointment, and some prefer to initiate the confirmation. I think asking the question shows some seriousness about the commitment.

I know this has worked for you, but there's no way I would take someone who tried to book an appointment 4 months in advance seriously. More than two weeks has never panned out for me, and the guy who recently tried to book over a month in advance kept "confirming" every other day to the point where I got so irritated with him (the final straw was 6 calls in one day about whether or not I wanted to have a drink before, during or after) that just I canceled the appointment so he wouldn't contact me anymore. However, I realize this is unusual behavior and not the norm by any means.

Max -- like I said, that 4 month early request was in my newbie days and I know better now. And like you, he did think I was a flake with no chance of keeping an appointment like that. Rookie mistakes -- we all make them.

I guess my question would be how far in advance would you want/like to schedule an appointment for with a regular that you had seen many times and you knew that person would be there when scheduled. With my guy, I set things up at least 1-2 weeks ahead of time. Once the appointment is agreed to, I may send him a quick email to confirm a couple of days ahead of time. Then again I may not. The appointment I had on Friday was set up about 10 days ahead of time and I never even communicated with him between when we set the date and we got together.

Do you schedule appointments further ahead of time for regulars than you do for new clients?

I recently contacted a very popular escort by email, and it was 31/2 mo. in advance. I prefaced my inquiry with the acknowledgement that I knew that he might not be in town on the requested date. He did not seem to think that I was a flake. He did say that he didn't exactly know his schedule that far in advance, but that, he would try to arrange whatever came up to include me. He then asked about me and responded promptly to the information. I also used the phrase "barring disaster" I would be there on that date. Now, I am a newbie, but I think that this is only polite. I very much want this escort, so why not acknowledge that I value him so much that I'm willing to commit months in advance?? Now I'm wondering if I should contact him again to apologize for the early request and blame it on my newness!?

I think sending an apology and labeling yourself a newbie would make you sound like a flake. If I got a message like that I'd think you were unable to think for yourself and make your own decisions and that you might change your plans if you were worried that other anonymous people didn't approve. If it's working for you and whoever you contacted that's all that matters. Just don't over confirm (like someone else -- maybe it was Joseph -- said his client did) because too much communication also makes you seem unstable.

Maybe one (and only one) email thanking him, telling him you really look forward to seeing him and that you will contact him a week or two before your trip to confirm. And then don't contact him until then. It's the constant emails and texts and phone calls that can drive them nuts (why in the hell my guys didn't kick me to the curb when I was a newbie, I don't know).
