I remember as a kid back around 1980, there were similar news stories about hookers accepting payment in gold. That's when gold was peaking at all time new highs. Soon after, the bubble burst and gold fell down to new lows. Makes me think the escort's ad is a sign of a bubble about to burst again.

Alternative forms of payment have never even crossed my mind. I suppose receiving gold wouldn't be a "bad" thing per se, however I'd have to make sure I bring a scale with me to make sure I'm getting as much as he says he's giving me! ha.
