In my case she was blasting music all the time you could hear it thumping through the wall at 2am. I was suffering from severe sleep issues. then she had a visit from a relative he brought his dog and she made that dog sleep in his car allnight. I called the cops on her and reported her to the leasing office. I didnt know at the time she had taken a job in the office. I think they googled my number then pushed for something to happen. lesson learned never use same phone number for personal life as business. never register web site in real name use a proxy. use fake name for business

Oh, but revenge is best served cold (and about three years later).

I didn't meet anyone when I went out to Nevada couple years ago. Then the very next day, I realized the place was far too saturated and decided to go home. I don't do casinos so I wasn't thrilled. It's a shame that they go after WG's and WB's the way I've been hearing. It's only legal in the isolated desert areas where VH1's celebrity rehab made a visit to Heidi Fleiss and all her parrots.

That's why I like Miami so much more. They don't give a fuck, and it's not Las Vegas's twin sister by any stretch of the imagination either. Our form of entertainment does not revolve around slut machines. and rolling dice. It's shop, dance, fuck, beach and then repeat.

Craigslist and backpage are used by "middle America" and soccer moms to sell and buy stuff. They don't like to see sexual listings on the same site that they are using. They complain to the city council, city council complains to the police and they go to work.

Yeah ya gotta watch for those backpage sites.

I'm not sure if I'm totally correct on this, but sites like men4ent have strict guidelines on what you can or cannot say. Plus it's not public like the backpage is. I just feel there's more protection advertising with them than the more public sites for 1 of the reasons you mentioned

Hire a lawyer

$1500 to represent your acquaintance sounds lower than I would have expected. You will NOT find an attorney, other than court appointed of course, for less. I certainly would not appear unrepresented before the judge.

Be aware that the initial $1500 will cover little, and your friend will most likely require 2-3 appearances prior to any resolution. The $1500 will most likely cover one court appearance as well as initial investigation. The final legal bill will most likely be closer to 5k if his intentions are to beat or reduce the charges.

If your friend simply wants to plead guilty, he should use court appointed counsel. The pro bono representation will most likely achieve the same result as your hired attorney, unless your friend wishes to contest the charges.

The time I was faced with a court charge, I was basically told the same thing. It's a lot scarier before you go the court because of the unknown factor—but keep in mind all they basically want is some money from you and they don't really care about the detrimental effect your behavior is obviously having on society.

I would go, get it over with, take care of the court records, get the hell out of Dodge and set up camp somewhere else.

Hey Rusty—I have some personal and passed-along information from associates and clients for your "friend." (this is why it can be a good thing to ask your clients, "so, what do YOU do?)

I don't know what type of escort this person is, so here's my advice if it were someone like me (an escort who advertises on M4RN or its equivalent).

First, this is a misdemeanor, but you can still get an 11:29 for it (11 months, 29 days—or just short of a year). What will most likely happen is that the judge will ask you how you plead, and either put it over for trial on "not-guilty" or process you then and there for "guilty." Your legal rep will likely stress to you that it's in your best interest to get this over with and put it behind you. That's pretty much true. If you plead guilty you'll likely get a suspended sentence and be put on probation for anywhere from 6 months to 3 years, with the promise that if you stay out of trouble you'll stay out of jail. If you get caught escorting again, you'll serve out the rest of your sentence in the pokey. You'll have to see a probation office, and you'll likely have a fine, a class, or community service that you have to do within a specific time, or you'll face contempt charges or again—jail. After all terms are met, you'll be eligible for having your record expunged. It's going to cost more than $1500, because you'll have to pay court costs, a fine (if applicable), probationary costs, expungement costs and so on. It's expensive, granted—but it's not the end of the world. Keep in mind that this is a middle of the road scenario—so you could have more or less added to your experience here.

In the meantime, what you MUST do is:

1) Pull your ads immediately—that persona is done. If it's discovered that you're still working before, during or after your court date—you're in for a HEAP of trouble.

2) Create a new email through Gmail. It's not traceable to your computer's IP address.

3) Contact your clients and tell them you're going to take a break for a while because of a new job/school/whatever, but tell them you're still available for seeing them. That way you still have money coming in.

4) Get a credit card immediately and charge your court expenses to it. Personally, I'd go with a public defender and try to save some money—because unless you aren't an escort and were somehow hit on the head and dressed in escort's clothing, you'll end up potentially doing more damage to yourself trying to say this isn't how it looks than if you were to walk in undefended. That said, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES go into court without a lawyer. They will think you aren't taking the matter seriously, and they will throw the maximum punishment at you. (This came straight from a judge who was a client).

5) Dress nicely, and maintain that you are naive and a newbie. Put the blame on yourself and say how sorry you are, that you didn't think about the consequences, and that you understand the gravity of the situation. If you are unemployed the judge may ask you how you plan to pay your bills and whether you plan to do something like this again. You may have to go find a temporary job to show your intent—if that's the case, do it. Then quit after court.

6) Depending on how you were caught, you may be able to advertise online again. Use new pics. You don't want any sort of connection between that escort and this new escort. If your clients contact you again under the new profile, tell them it's you and that you had someone stalking you and you had to change your profile to get rid of them. Hopefully things will settle down and you can go back to your normal life with no problems.

One thing you can do to protect yourself from this is to regularly check the court clerk site for Vegas and see if the cops are currently busting large numbers of people, particularly men. You can also swear off hotels and meet people only in residences, or do a very thorough check of your client before meeting (an out of state area code is always a good sign, get them to talk to you to see if they appear gay, and see if you can find info about them on FB or on the net). This isn't always possible, and you're going to be taking a risk. If you aren't comfortable with meeting with someone—cancel or don't take the appointment. You can also try seeing clients in nearby cities as well.

Lastly, set aside some money in case you need it. This is like any other job—and you should always have an emergency fund.

Hope that helps, dude.

What is your advice to a client who gets arrested?

I don't think maxwellissmart is active on the forums anymore. So he probably won't answer your question.

What is your advice to a client who gets arrested?

A lot of good advice has been posted elsewhere. My opinions:

0) I'm not a lawyer, ask a real one their opinion :)

1) don't talk even though its normal human nature to think that its possible to make the arrest stop and you go home if you cooperate by talking. Cooperate by submitting to the arrest and asking for a lawyer. Its like "name, rank and serial number". It doesn't matter how nice the policeman is or you are, they are in the business of arresting people and aren't embarrassed if the case isn't prosecuted by the DA, dismissed by the judge or you're found innocent. They were sent to your location to arrest people, period. I can imagine its a horrible experience including being scary and embarrassing but take deep breaths and just let the situation run its course. I think you're in worse shape by talking without a lawyer than asking for one so, again, don't think that any talking without a lawyer is somehow better.

2) have your lawyer's cell phone number in your wallet and use it. Any good lawyer has no problem recommending a different one if they aren't the best for the case.

3) better to spend more money up front to get the case dismissed or reduced to something that goes away automatically after a certain period of time than pleading guilty and thinking you can just get it expunged later. There is no guarantee of what can happen later (even current laws outlining whats possible can change). Even if you have to borrow or max out credit cards my opinion remains the same.

I've read about too many fake Las Vegas ads and from what I've read about LE there I'd hire elsewhere.

Whatever I am, it's hyper-not-wanting-to-get-arrested-again. I got busted by some prick for a driver's license expiration and they hauled me in. Not fun and a great waste of an afternoon.

Amazing, and disappointing, to me that you were arrested for driving with an expired drivers license. I would have thought they'd impound your car and either let a friend meet you or call a taxi. I certainly understand they wouldn't let a driver without a valid license drive away.

I realized that a LEO will probably and automatically make a firm step backwards.

It also happened once that the client had the money counted and spread out on the table in his hotel room. "I thought I'd get this out of the way first", he said. "I'm sorry, there must be a misunderstanding, but I don't do these kinds of things for money", was my response. I turned around, left the room, walked straight to my car and drove away.

If not for your friend, I hope these hints are still useful for many others.

Warmest, Anton.

Hmm....sounds like you left a lot of money "on the table". I would have took the money and then made that statement as I was getting into the elevator lol. If you're gonna arrest someone, Atleast give em bail money. Shit, they used to do shows on 20/20 where they had some older guy walk into a house to meet an underage girl. It turned out to be a news show investigating them. Soon as they walked out, BAM, police would slam their fucking face into the dirt. I wonder if they ever got sued for entrapment. One guy damn near had a heart attack when the police bum rushed him. Even though there was never any under aged girl in the house.

Nah, but I don't think money laid is necessarily a sign of anything. It actually sounds pretty respectful. I mean, once you're in the room they've got all the evidence they need whether you take the money or not.
