Once again guys we have diverted off the subject of the original post here. Do you cut someone slack if the pics are outdated. I say it depends on how the evening goes and how outdated. Something that I had to recently decide. While his pics were off by I believe maybe 10 years, the evening was in a word, delightful. Great company, engaging, intelligent, and a wonderful companion. BUT the pics just left me with a little bad taste in my mouth. (pardon the pun). A difficult area to decide and I think in the end each person must decide what is right for them...I coughed up the cash but flew home just a little bit disappointed.

 

BVB - I understand your thought. There are several wonderful escorts who have not kept their web pages current. This is a good question. First of all, I would say that this is a rampant problem with rentboys in NEW YORK. Doesn't seem to be a major issue with other cities like Philly, Miami, Boston, the West, or abroad. New York has plenty of them -- just try calling any of the Apollon guys and a different guy shows up from what's in the photo ad. I just had a similar experience with Leonardo Dun - nice guy but, still, a different guy altogether from his rentboy ad. Also, if it's the same guy, then the photo may have been taken during "leaner" times, when the guy was more in shape, 20-40 lbs lighter, or many years younger.

 

Let's face it - we ALL encounter this sort of thing not just in ads but also in hook-up sites, like manhunt or adam4adam. But, out of principle, I think clients deserve downright honesty from rentboys. If the client shows up on time and has the right amount of payment in his pocket, then, by all means and ways, the client deserves an honest deal from the guy. By honesty, I mean showing up on time, not rushing the client to a 20 minute rushed ordeal, being clean and not smelly, sticking to what was agreed upon beforehand, having a reasonably accurate rendering of his current looks in his photo ads, and just being flat out nice to the client. Seriously, the guys who do these and are honest to clients are the ones who have been the MOST successful in their craft. I've seen other games played - I scheduled a duo with militarynjock one time but only one showed up -- and the one told me he charged 400 for solo. What gives? At the end of the day, clients don't need these games from the guys. We get enough of that in the gay scene of NY. Can't we once for all ask for simple fair business sense from rentboys?

If the escort made a choice to represent him with old pictures, and your hiring decision was based on THOSE pics, when he shows up at your door not looking like the pics he presented, just send him away with NO MONEY in hand.
