I was always leery about Apollon21 and when I got an email from them about this "deal" I had had enough and sent them off a terse email calling them a fraud.

 

Surprisingly I recieved an email back from them asking my why I call them a fraud.

 

Thus began an email exchange (I had some extra time on my hands) back and forth since I knew one of their escorts they were advertising and he is no longer escorting.

 

I then through down the gauntlet and told the person at Apollon21 to offer me 5 free credits to prove them wrong and I would then let people on this forum that they were not a scam.

 

Thus ended our email exchange since I never heard from Apollon again....it makes me very mad that there are sites that prey on people, offer them the world and then make you pay to see extra pictures and or get information

While I tend to agree that it's more of a scam than not, I have to say that over the past couple of years I have found 2 young men on there who I would not have otherwise come across and both experiences were pretty great.

 

I guess nothing is just black or white - lots of shades of grey in life!

Ditto as I have known many escorts whose photos are on that site and they definately were/are not in the US at this time. Plus, I find it a scam getting me to part with money for photos that are available generally elsewhere.

The two were in New York, both on the young (early 20s) side, and I had come across neither on R'boy or R'men. I am sure they were on some other site Apollon21 lifted them from but i don't scan every possible site so I guess it saved me the work of looking at over half a dozen sites? Who knows.

 

Again, I totally understand your feelings and tend to agree - it strongly resembles a scam; funnily enough I have just had some good fortune from it, that's all.

I don't think Apollon "resembles" a scam...I think it is a scam.

 

So help me get this straight...you paid Apollon a certain monthly fee to get some tokens in order for you to contact an escort or see more pictures of him? Some of the escorts on there are already on other sites that costs you nothing to get in touch with and then there are some hotties on Apollon that are nowhere else...and these are the ones I question as either models that they just throw up there after stealing their pictures or put up a retired escort, like Jay in Philadelphia whom I know personally and is now out of the business. So why would Jay's picture still be up on Apollon unless it was to get you to spend your alotted tokens to no avail of seeing or contacting a retired escort.

 

I still cannot wrap my mind around the logic of using this site and I find it insulting that they think we are all fools that will glady sign up for a monthly fee to either see pictures or get "so called" numbers to contact escorts.

I paid a one-time fee for a number of "tokens". I just happened upon 2 individuals over the years who I didn't notice on R'boy or R'men. I am sure they were on some other site because that seems to be this site operator's MO - to lift pics and info from other sites, organize them and charge for access and information.

 

It's really not that complicated. I would say for most people it's a waste of money; I just happened to have a favorable experience that, for me, sort of justified the fee I paid. I am sure if I had worked harder scouring the internet I could have saved myself money, for sure.

 

I hope you all understand I am not encouraging anyone to sign up with this site - it's negatives really seem to outweigh its positives. I just thought a perspective from someone who actually felt a tiny bit of (admittedly lucky) value was worth a shout out. Maybe in the future i'll refrain from sharing an experience that isn't popular - I certainly wasn't trying to be controversial!

I remember trying to contact an escort through Apollon 21. I got an email back from the site saying that the escort I was trying to get in touch with was out of town and not available. They then supplied me with contact information for another escort. I immediately thought, this was a classic bait and switch.

Several months later, I ran across the escort I originally tried to contacts Ad on another site called M4RN.com. When I told him what had happened, he told me he had never posted his pictures or profile information on Apollon21. He then researched it, and found out that they did have his information listed, and immediately got in touch and demanded they take it down. Since then, I have never logged on to that site. CF
