I have to agree with jjkrkwood on both accounts...both that you took a very big risk and why didn't you turn right around as soon as you found out he wasn't who he advertised to be?

 

Have you used backpage before and with success? The best thing, as has been said many times before, is to realize the risk you take when not hiring well reviewed guys.

 

I don't necessarily think your course of action was the best even though it did turn out ok for you and you got some enjoyment from it.
