I enjoy these "do it yourself" threads." Granted the quality of the photo isn't professional, but that's part of the appeal for me. As I've said before---you see the environment the guy lives in, the bathroom, the bedroom, the gym. There's also something about a guy (or gal) doing things when he is alone, that he would not do with someone else in the room, or taking the photo. Thanks for a group of men I enjoyed looking at and being able to peek into their lives.

It's nice to know I'm not the only guy who doesn't like these pictures of guys who don't even seem to have a single friend who can take their pictures.

 

I would agree if they were the only photo in a guys profile. But at least a few of these guys are well known models who most certainly also have great professional photos. So I think criticism of the photos is missing the point. Besides while the photos may not be great works of art in at least a few of the cases they are not badly lit and relatively clear. Certainly enough so that one could see what they were getting if for example it was for a hookup or something. I doubt any of these were taken or posted to be coffee table books.

 

When I see mirror shots on a site like manhunt or something my criticism is not that they are not great works of composition and entertaining shadow and light but rather that more often than not one really can't get a very good idea of what the blurry awkwardly posed guy might look like in person. That is not really the case in most of these shots.

 

Of course I may not be one to judge as my photos are not so great, are ALL self-portraits and yes I really do need to put up new ones. But I will be looking for ones that continue to show what I look like and NOT necessarily my artistic skills as a photographer as I am advertising as an escort and not a photographer.

 

So yeah normally agree with you and think mirror shots are cheesy but in this aptly named thread I enjoyed them..

In some sense self sucking is like self portraits in a mirror. As someone who can suck myself I admit that (like with photography) it is usually better with a partner. But hey it's the novelty and fantasy of it isn't it? I mean I much prefer a partner's cock or mouth when it comes to sucking or be sucked and yet I love the fact that I can do it and I do appreciate that others occasionally appreciate it. But it by itself is not likely to ever be how I get off.
