One of the (many) difficulties with RENTBOY is that an escort has to pay in advance, say, for a month but then leaves town in 10 days, and the ad stays running, but he is gone. Sometimes too, the escort travels but it is no easy matter to change the info (unless you want to stopo by their offices in Chelsea I think it is, or keep calling them...)

 

I find that while Rentboy is a site I check often, it is still more user-unfriendly than friendly. My peeves? Can they add a category on "tats" and "piercings" (such as on Gay Romeo) so that I do not get a shock when I hire, and see a guy who had a beautiful torso, and then has what turns out to be a veritable coloring book comic on his back -- a major deflater of my sexual desire...). I would like to have a filter for such things since many escorts are a bit coy on whether or not they have tats or are pierced.

 

Also they let guys post ads with no phone number, or a fake on (once saw a number "000.000.0000!"). I understand an escort's desire for discretion and a certain anonymity, but this? Anyway I have that off my chest and probably may have hijacked the thread on JT, whose photo in the locker room with those really muscular legs is a major turn on.

Totally Agree on the Downside to Rentboy Listings! But after all is said and done a Photo like Vegas can be a Crapshoot!

He can always take out a traveling (daily) ad instead of a monthly, or hide his ad at any time he takes off, or change his text to reflect his availability.

Where are you getting your info, dude? It's done (rather easily) online, neither in person nor over the phone.

So they should not placed the ad the escort-- their customer-- wants to place?

 

There are many legitimate issues with that site, but you're woefully ill-informed to be bashing the site with these.

Kevin - I stand corrected. I was speaking from experiences of last year and two years ago. I since have not been involved with guys trying to place the ads.

 

My comment on perhaps further "filters" stands -- it was a suggestion, which obviously they can take or leave. And I never intended they run an ad that was not paid. I was dealing with guys whose command of English was very limited, and I got involved when (for instance) they checked off PNP, BB etc not even knowing what it meant until I saw the ad and asked "Do you really want to advertise this?" I have noticed they are ow much more saavy about this.
