I was just wondering. Looking at the guys who are traveling right now or even guys who are home. I was wondering do you typically get some/many/lots of bookings on a holiday such as Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's? I don't mean the day or two before or after. I mean on the holiday itself. Just wondering.

I've almost always seen at least one client on a holiday. This year, I've already had to turn down at least 6-7 people for tomorrow and Friday because I've got family staying with me. Damn cash-making-opportunity-ruining family. I should charge them for my time at the dinner table.

It's obvious that major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas are quieter compared to a regular business escort day. People have family obligations, Thanksgiving dinners at Grandma's and who wants to play on a full stomach?

I avoid flying on Wednesday before or Sunday after Thanksgiving, I never shop on Black Friday, but will be flying tomorrow on Thanksgiving Day and I expect it to be a rather quiet travel day. Also a day to recharge my batteries, enjoy the gym and the spa at my hotel. I may get an appointment or two in the evening. Friday is a totally different matter, but that wasn't your question.

Christmas I'll be spending home. For me family, friends and loved ones are very important and I've never thought that I'd 'lose' money if I just turn my cell phone off. These are those special times of the year ...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I never work Christmas Day but I always work the other 364 days except when I go abroad on holiday. If I holiday in UK, I always advertise myself in those areas because you just never know who might book.

Last year I worked New Years Day for the first time ever and had 2 appointments in, it shocked me. I will be working this New Year too :)

I'm certainly up to see someone on Thanksgiving and other holidays and in fact was able to even recently.

However, after spending a full day face to face with family in a circle, can get overwhelming and it's not rare I'll be checking emails after dinner. Back in the day, I would go to Miami every Christmas and after dinner was either movies or go to South Beach to go clubbing. get piss ass drunk and then barf up all the calories (just kidding!). So it's only natural to want to engage in some sort of dubachery.

In the future, I won't travel major holidays anymore unless it's to see family. I had to spend my Thanksgiving dinner at Denny's...but atleast everyone else and their grandma seemed to be having Thanksgiving at Denny's too LOL. I was shocked. Do people not cook anymore?

But the Denny's in Billings Montana is cool, they serve beer!
