I posted the following entry on my blog and then got to wondering what you all thought about this too. This is what I posted

There was a discussion on an online form, that I am member of, which debated whether you should take money off a client you refuse to see.

Personally I think you shouldn’t, however if a client turns up and decides that the appointment isn’t for him then I agree that he should pay (it’s rare they do mind, they’ve usually left their wallet in the car – tut tut) but if a client turned up at my door, had poor hygiene and was impossible to entertain then I wouldn’t dream of asking him for my fee.

Some escorts seem to think it’s acceptable to ask for their fee, possibly for their time, even thought they’ve got no intention of providing a service because of the hygiene of the client. I think that’s wrong, if I turned someone away I would never expect them to pay.

A few months back, I drove the 25 odd miles from my home to a village called Amble. When I turned up the door, the guy was as white as a sheet, I entered his property and he said “Steve I just can’t do this, there is your £100 as agreed”. Yes he gave me the money for my time but if I had walked in and the place was a tip and decided that I couldn’t bear to spend an hour of my time there, I wouldn’t expect to be paid.

Sometimes escorts get it all wrong and clients end up thinking we’re all like that. No one should be expected to see a client with poor hygiene but if they refuse the client then he shouldn’t be expected to pay.

I had something happen once years ago maybe around 06. Guy calls books a massage. Last appointment of the day. He shows up I have everything set up. He comes in and tells me he is sorry but just can't do it. Tells me that he tried 3 other times in the past to book massages but always called the person back and canceled. He told me he thought if he could get up the nerve to make it into the persons studio that he would go through with it but realized he can't. I just said okay and let him go. He didn't offer to pay anything imo I should have been paid the full price such drama over just getting a massage

When a client starts to back out, I suggest you ask him to wait a minute. I remember my first time I was very nervous. The escort quickly stripped down, came over and gave me a big hug. The old hormones kicked in and I forgot that I was nervous. In that situation the client really, really wants to do it but is afraid, probably of looking foolish, but if you take the first step it will probably turn him on physically and he will remember why he is there. The escort might be giving something away free if the client leaves him standing there undressed. But it is much more likely that a little effort will save the encounter and the client will always remember you with gratitude.

I think that it would all depend on why the client changed his mind. If there was misrepresentation on the part of the escort or masseur then the client should not pay. I just believe that there are an infinite amount of circumstances that could occur and it is too difficult to generalize. This is a little different, but I went for a 2 hour with an escort in a part of the city I had not ever been to. It was a HORRIBLE area. Very Very bad, much worse than I had imagined it would be. I circled once and parked. There were some guys across the street who were drinking on the lawn and just starred at me. I went upstairs and told the guy that there wasn't anyway I was leaving my car on the steet for 2 hours. He did not have a driveway or garage that I could park it in, so I left. He said he was sorry. MY fault, not really. I think I should have been warned or at least should have offered an alternative.

If it had been a massage appointment the masseur could have set the table up on the front lawn and given you the massage there. That way you could have kept an eye on your car and also provided great entertainment for the guys across the street. They could have even come over and joined in.....

This has gone off on a tangent guys and no one has yet answered my question.

This is not concerning whether you should pay an escort its whether an escort should take money off a client THEY refuse to see

The expresions "poor hygiene" and "impossible to entertain" in your question are difficult things to understand. Did the client just need to brush his teeth or jump in the shower for a few minutes? If so and the client was willing to do them then the escort should stay. Was it just a little bad breathe and a little body odor and the client refused to clean up? If the escort couldn't handle a little bad breathe and body odor they are in the wrong business. I think all escorts and clients have endured situations that weren't ideal and decided to go thru with the appointment as is. If the client really stunk and had not brushed their teeth in 2 days and could do a few things to clean up but refused to clean up then I think the escort should leave and deserves their money. If the client refused to control pets then the escort gets paid. Many different scenarios that could result in different opinions.

I think if the hygiene is so bad that you just can't get past it and you refuse to see them you shouldn't get paid just look at it as part of doing business and walk away.you run the risk of a negative review if you take the money then Don't see them . I've had a few massage clients over the years show up with horrible hygiene. It being limited to just massage I put up with it and just didn't see them again. I can't get over some people don't shower b4 a massage. I had a guy last week he smelled so bad I couldn't wait for it too be over.

Hi Steve and welcome to the site! If an escort refuses to see a client I don't think he should be paid. If its a matter of hygiene, I'm assuming an escort is sharp enough to suggest the client join him for a shower or if the client prefers to do so alone, offer a clean bathroom and towel :) If an escort ever refused to meet with me, I surely wouldn't pay them. Not that this is a risk of course :)

I believe, through all the light jokes that I did answer your original question. You said that you believed if a client shows up and decides the appointment isn't for him then you said you agreed he should pay....I said that there are an infinite amount of situations that would have a client decide that he wanted to leave, very few I believe would result in the client being obligated to hand over the fee.

I believe, as I do about many things, it's a two way street. Clients who arrive to find that the escort has misrepresented himself or has poor personal hygiene, or buzzed or whatever have no responsibility to pay. Clients who arrive and "chicken out" when there is no reason should at least pay something for the escort's lost time. The reverse is true for escorts. If they arrive and the client hasn't prepared for the visit, ie shower, mouthwash, or taken care of any situation that would be unacceptable to a normal human being, then the client should pay. If the escort arrives and finds the client is clean but too fat or too ugly or too old, then the escort should excuse himself and should be paid nothing. I'm aware that there are always circumstances that crop up from time to time, and the escort and client, being reasonable people, should always be able to work out a mutually acceptable solution.

As another poster said in reply to a diff thread, its all about "Tolerances". What one escort sees as Bad hygiene might be perfectly acceptable for another. But ultimately, it is the escort who must decide what HE can deal with and how he should handle the call. There is no right or wrong, should I or shouldnt I Obvioulsy an escort would hope for repeat business with a client, and personal hygiene issues are sensitive, and must be handled with caution and finesse. If all else failes, throw caution to the wind and just be upfront and honest. You may lose a client but there are more fish in the sea.

A legal point (I hate it when I do this):

Isn't the money being given for TIME? If no time is "exchanged", then no money should be "exchanged". Travel expenses, petrol, travel time might be chargeable, but should, I would think, be negotiated up front. And I always thought the situation was caveat emptor on both sides? [not according to Google: The person with the money assumes the risk.]

I've had to "talk down" clients before—and they pretty much always had a good time. I'd rather spend an extra 30-60 minutes doing some quick hand-holding and back-rubbing and still make some money. The worst was a guy who told me how much fun he was going to have during our—keep this in mind, OVERNIGHT appointment—and then laid on the bed like a cadaver during a massage. He actually told me at one point he thought being with guys was "just wrong." I cut the appointment down to an hour, said "all done!" and left.

As I client. If an escort makes a decision not to see me after I have travelled to him I don't see why I should have to pay him.

I agree and I am an escort

If you hired a painter to paint your home and he refused to paint it would you still give him his 500 fee. Why are escorts different ?

I only remember this issue coming up twice—once was with a guy who obviously had an outbreak of some sort of cooties on his nether regions and I stopped the session right then. He was embarrassed and paid and left. The second was with a guy who jerked me around repeatedly to the point where I finally refused to see him, and he paid me via PayPal in order to "reset" his status. Amazingly enough, I saw him several times after that and was subjected to some of the most wonderful oral attention I've ever gotten. And then he flaked out again.
