After reading thru several New York City Rentboy Ads, it was interesting to see alot more nebulous detail that beg for clairifcation.

For example: what does "generous men Only mean" ? does this escort want or expect a big tip over and above his high price. Whats happens if you dont tip ???

Also, whats up with the pricing being "ask me" ??? Even pros like Antonio Biaggi and Skye Woods have this as their price. Do they make up the price on the fly? Does it go by your voice and how vulnerable you seem? Are their differnet levels of clients that beg different prices? I dont mind an escort asking for $300, but ask for it upfront, why the mystery. Seems fishy.....

I know most of you will reply that all these things can be answered with an honest dialog with the escort beforehand, but it seems to me money should be the last thing that needs dialog. That should be crystal clear from the escorts ad..

I've always thought that "generous men only" is meant to dissuade any bargaining down of price and subtly indicate the more the client is willing to spend (more time/hours) the more interested the escort will be in agreeing to meet. To me it is not a good approach to include in an advert because it just gives me the feeling that its just about the money (which I know is the case but I don't like to be reminded about it) Always remember that tipping is at your discretion and give what you feel is appropriate (if anything).

I don't like the "ask me" approach but it does seem to be more and more popular. I believe it is a form of dynamic pricing so that the escort can give some attractive pricing when business is slow and the opposite when business is very good. The only thing worse, in my opinion, than "ask me" is "make me an offer". I don't want to negotiate the rate...give me the rate and either it is good for me or not.

I suspect there are multiple answers to both questions - that it varies from escort to escort. 'Generous men only', on some sites, means 'no freebies, no matter how hot you think you are'.

As for the lack of a definitive rate - another possibility is tiered pricing, based on specific activities. I've met escorts who charged more if I wanted them to bottom (as opposed to merely oral activities), and I know there was discussion here recently about charging extra for some activities that require advance preparation (WS, e.g.)

But I too prefer to see a standard rate quoted up-front!

I would say. Ask me means they are willing to negotiate on the price. But on what grounds ? Based on what's on offer perhaps ? Or the clients looks ? Personally I prefer ads where the price is mentioned so I can judge whether I can afford or not.
