Last week, in a discussion of fake photos and other scams, it was suggested that I purchase a Premium Membership on M4M, as I use the site a lot. This would enable me to see the negative reviews that are written, but not posted for all to see. I did this today, and I'm glad I did. For just $7 per month, I see the "other" side of certain masseurs. So, whoever made that suggestion, thank you!

I looked at some of the masseurs I had been with over the years. One, a real jerk, collected many, many favorable reviews, and a few unfavorables. I know EXACTLY what those guys went through with this nut. I just wonder how someone who can be so bad on certain days can be so good on others? I guess we all have our good days and bad days -- but this guy has more than his share!

Interestingly, one of the newer masseurs has two favorable reviews, and then one guy wrote an angry, one-sentence review saying that the guy who showed up wasn't the guy in the photo. Well, I wasn't there, so I don't know, but it's possible.

Anyway, whoever it was, thanks for the suggestion!

I think it can be good to have if your hire allot or travel allot and hire in different city's. imo best is too find someone you really connect with and just stick with that or a few you connect with. Iv only had 3 massage therapist in my entire life. I research find someone that great at deep tissue since that's the only kind of massage I like. then I stick with them until They move or I move. My last massage therapist move to SF I haven't had a massage in 2 years. Haven't had the chance much too look for a new one.

Hey beethoven, that was me. Thank you very much, so glad I was able to help...learned that little tip in the nick of time awhile back. I was about to hire a well known masseur, and his reviews were all 10's. I decided by chance to purchase the premium and guess what came up? A whole list of bad reviews...I passed of course. Sometimes, however, if the bad reviews are all from several years ago, and the last few years are very positive, I have taken a chance and it has been alright. We all go through bad times once in awhile and often these masseurs, if they are serious about what they do, will clean up there act and really become very professional. Beware though, any masseur can have friends write positive reviews that are fake. You're smart, just use them as one piece of information to determine your pick. Best to you.

I suspect that a lot of the "good" reviews are faked. It also seems likely that some of the bad ones may be faked as well by competitors or other nuts who have an ax to grind. One thing that catches my attention is the number of reviews where the reviewer has only written one review. If a therapist has all reviews by reviewers who have only written one review then it makes me a little more cautious.

Good observation monopolizer. I agree with your comment on only one review on a masseur is suspect, especially if they have been advertizing for awhile. But for a competitor to post a fake review would be hard to do. All reviews, good or bad are seen by the masseur first. And I think that an obvious bad fake one the masseur would most certainly protest and it probably would not get posted. Curious though, in all the years I have been doing this ( and that is alot) lol, I have never heard a masseur talk badly about another. Even when I have told them of a particular bad experience and named names, they all have remained nuetral in there response. It is almost like a commonality they all share and actually respect each other. Just my observations that I found to be curious.

anytime a client says something about another local masseur too me i mostly say oh really that's interesting. Most masseurs don't even know each other. someone asks me ever now and then if we hang out know each other or swap massages. the answers no. I personally have only had a conversation with 2 masseurs from massage m4m in my whole life. Out of 60 something advertising anytime A client has something bad too say it's normally the same 3 to 4 guys they are talking about.

I was not gossiping nor was I curious as to the response from the masseur. I was venting frustration at the fact the masseurs often do not represent themselves correctly, whether or not it pretains to pricing, physical appearance, quality of services or promised spa like atomosphere. I don't lie in my personal life, that's me, and it is damn frustrating when I open my wallet in good faith and then get lied to. I know the world is full of pimps and thieves and *****s, but I still am baffled when they try there scams on me. Now that being said...I have had countless positive encounters with some of the most wonderful masseurs you can imagine, Rod Hagen and Nick out in the Valley, some of these guys, well it is a treat just going to them.
