# 29 I am totally blown away. Of course there are a privileged group of us out there who know the escort this beautiful image reminds us of. He, like the photo, is a very special mixture of strength and compassion that flows over to us all and makes our lives a better place.

He is my best friend, my life within life, the rest of my dreams and whole of my waking reality, the one who completes my soul~ Awoooooooooooo~!

Here is a picture of him just after he had a near drowning experience. He went back to the water after swimming out and was contemplating what had just happened.

We were crossing the river across five felled trees. I was just reaching the other side and he was two trees behind me over swift dangerous water. I turned to see him hanging on to the tree with his front feet and looking at me trying to pull himself up as the water kept sucking him under. Every time I walked across the, (interlinked five trees), bridge back to him they would dunk into the water and he would lose grip. I didn't want him to get too tired and get pulled under and drowned and he WAS getting really tired. His faith was strong but his body was losing the battle against the current. I looked at him and told him to just let go. He looked at me and then just slipped off and disappeared~

I ran across to where he was on the second tree and was ready to dive into the water. He'd been pulled under by an undertow and I couldn't see him.

Just about to dive, I cought site of him way down stream. The current had pulled him down under and down stream fast then pushed him back up. I ran back to the other side and ran into the water to get him. We made it safely onto shore and had great greetings of reunion and that's when he walked over to the edge you see him at now, overlooking the water where we had crossed over those linked trees. He just stood there contemplating the experience~

The water looks smooth there but was quite swift towards the upper left hand corner of the picture. You can kind of see the eddies~

Interestingly enough, I almost drowned on the same trip trying to retrieve a crabbing bouy from a sea cave on a cliff where there was a big hole.

You'll see the pic with the rushing water and hole leading thru a wall of rock and out to the ocean.

I kept waiting for the tide to draw the water out and then would jump down into the bottom of the swell, run into the cave and grab the bouy, tugging fiercely on it... but, it was stuck in between some rocks and a large cedar log.

When the waves would flow in, I would climb up out of there and sit at the cliffs edge waiting for the water to recede again.

My third time down there, a sneaker wave came in fast and I didn't have time to get up out of there. Nanook tried to grab my arm with his mouth but it was really too late.

I looked up at him with full understanding of the look he had given me at the river while hanging onto that tree with his front paws.

The water pulled me off the cliff but I had enough time while whirling around under the current to wrap the rope from the bouy around my wrists... the water tried to pull me out thru that hole and was swirling me around like a spin cycle on a washing machine but I held on tight.

A huge amount of water rushed in again and pushed me up...

Letting some of the rope out, I was be able to move to the top of the water swell, grabbing the rock outcropping and a log branch as it pushed me up to the top of the cliff edge.

The water pulled away thru that hole and I climbed up quick to safety with Nanook.

I still had that fucking bouy in my hand though~!

I severed the rope on some rock and now it's hanging on my front porch~
