As a recently inked guy, I can more appreciate the "artistic" nature of the ink as opposed to the "sexual" nature of it, so to that end I must go with #8. Impeccable art. I dont find tats sexy when they are too excessive, but #5 makes it look sexy...

I am sure I am in the minority, but these pictures are a turn off. A small tat is fine, but the so called body art is a real negative for me, and as a health professional I know that as these guys age the full body art will look a lot different and cause them a lot of problems when the are past 40 or 50. But, to each his own, and if these guys like it, which they must to go through such mutilation, then be my guest.

Tats can be very Personal or just Addictive!

#9..The guy on the RIGHT with the Shoulder/Torso Tat wears it well on a Fine Bod! But hopefully he has none elsewhere!

The Porno Guy on the LEFT I'm sure he has his reasons for his Tats BUT they are Ugly! IMHO only having 2 myself....

In some ways I have to agree with jj. If one looks strictly at the overall art and design some of the tattoos look great NOW. The question is what are they going to look like in ten, twenty, or thirty years? I have some knowledge regarding this matter. Thirty five years ago I wanted to do something than no thirty five year old high school teacher would ever do. I finally decided on having a tattoo placed on the back of my left shoulder. I have NEVER regretted that decision. I must, however, admit that thirty five years later the subject of the tattoo is hardly recognizable. It is simply a blue blur. That is not a concern for me because of its location. The problem with extensive body tattooing is that with time it is all going to bleed together into a massive blue blur which is NOT going to be attractive.

I do agree Time is a Bitch! But with the Spacing of the Design it will probably take him well into his 60's which at that point..Who is really gonna care!

Well Epig, I might have found the solution? I got my first tat at 59. and yes they are addictive, so now 1 yr later, I have 6, and they all look great,

bright and vibrant... By the time they blur and fade, ill be too old to even care.... And thankfully, I also have pretty good jeans, so they are not YET encased in a blob of wrinkles.....

Jj in a way you are dodging the point. Most of the guys and girls getting inked today are NOT 59. In ten or twenty years the guys photographed on this thread are going to look awful.

Josephga you make an excellent point. When discussing tattoos with high school students I always attempted to point out that many people, particularly in the business world, find tattoos déclassé and associate them with urban gangs. I always suggested that they have their tattoos placed where when they went to a job interview the tattoos could be covered by a long sleeved shirt. I also strongly recommended that they avoid placing tattoos on their face and neck.

I Agree Epig, if you are a younger person considering Ink, ALWAYS consider what your course in life is going to be (although there are no Definates). Many professions ACCEPT ink as a sign of creativity and indidivduality. Ink is not something that should be impulse or random. It should be given thought, and you must always look at the BIG picture. But in the end, you either Like it or you Dont. As with anything else in life, its a personal choice and decision, and should be done for "yourself".
