Do discuss money for anything other than a published rate. Some guys don't like the envelope, others don't like you to confirm the rate during the session--put cash in a conspicuous place. that seems to be the best compromise.

 

Warning signs--multiple unfamiliar guys from the same background (muscle guys, same ethnicity) who suddenly appear in ads for your town at the same time. Often a scam.

 

Guys who will do everything including obscure fetishes like diapers, on Rentboy.

 

Pics w/o faces that don't look the same. Pics that seem resemble old porn stars.

 

OTOH...established credible guys will respond to email within 24 hours, nor more than 48 hrs. They will give direct answers and direct questions. If you're not getting that, it's probably a sign not to go forward.

I would say cash upfront is a definite warning sign. I am also wary about guys asking for deposits but then some say it is to secure the booking as they have been scammed by clients. And anyone who offers to meet up but refuses to show a pic is a no no in my book.
