Am I wrong or did in past years at about this same point in time there were more ads of escorts traveling to Chicago for IML and the GRABBYs?

Although I will NOT be there as a client, I know of two men who'll be there. Chicago is in their travel dates at their website or at http://www.rentboy.com or http://www.rentmen.com. There is another one whom I presume will be there, too! He's out of the country now but plans to be back in the States within a few days!

If you're referring to postings in the 'Escort Travels' forum, I have the impression that fewer escorts are posting there period. (Just my impresion tho - haven't done the research to confirm that).

You are right. There are usually more traveling escorts in years past than this year (so far) who have advertised travels to Chicago for IML and the Grabbys later this month. I am delighted to see, however, that Ricardo is visiting Chicago for the first time. I have seen him in Fort Lauderdale and he's a special delight. Beautiful guy, killer body.

While that makes sense Steven ( and you may very well be right), my recollections from Memorial Day Weekends in the past was that often porn stars nominated for the awards would advertise that they were going to be in Chicago. The same way Las Vegas gets a lot of visitors around the time of that electronics/Porn convention.

Studios may be a factor

 

I've noticed that porn and online studios seem to participate less in out of town (non-LA/SF) events than they did in the past. I went to NY Pride last year and the only porn representation was RandyBlue. I'd imagine that porn escorts travel if the studios support it and the Grabbys should encourage this. It may be that we'll see more of this closer to the date if they're waiting on last minute deals to determine who goes and how long they stay.

Well I just looked at the Chicago ads on Rentboy. They are up to 74. A far cry from the 101 previously noted as having advertised at last year's GRABBYs/IML. Of course there is still time for more to advertise. The funny thing is that I don't see that many pornstars ads. The ones I've seen advertising are Devon, Chase Hunter, Tommy Defendi, Brad McGuire, Heath Jordan, Shane Frost, Justin Taylor, Ricky Martinez, Matt Cole, Adam Rogue, and Jonathan Vargas. I've probably missed a few but not many. But only a few of these seem to be really top tier pornstars. I would think there are more coming for the GRABBY's. For example Cole Streets said on the Hot House Back Room Live that he would be there-- but I don't see an ad. So I wonder if the ads will continue to increase.

Last year I met someone at the Grabby's host hotel "The Hard Rock" and he mentioned that there are many porn aficionados gathering or traveling to Chicago solely for this event. I didn't attend because I was busy with clients and otherwise occupied (IML). Probably you can socialize and make friends with one of the porn fans and he can give you the latest scoop about who is attending. If not you can always try to stalk them at the Marriott Magnificent Mile. <humor>
