Comments coming from people without the experience of ND, forget that not everyone is alike...just as you probably can't understand why someone would do such a thing,,,ND is not like you. As someone who needs forgiveness and struggles with things I've done, I see ND's post a him placing a marker in the sand as a first step to help him move himself forward. This act is very common when attempting to change something about your life. If he needs this step to move forward, perhaps some empathy will ensue and give the guy a chance to make his ammends....I agree that he needs to follow through but give him this much, please.

Doit -- the problem is that ND did make such statements one previous time. Maybe if this was the first time it might be one thing, but it isn't. And we were given different reasons for the no-shows. Boating accident, family issues.

 

I'm all about forgiveness and redemption. Who among us doesn't need that for some action (or inaction) we've taken? But words must be followed by deeds. They weren't the last time ND made an appearance -- Rosstheboss is right in that we've heard this before. So at this point the deeds need to be followed by the words. For me, he should have at least started any restitution before posting. Otherwise we are at the "Little Boy Who Cried Wolf" scenario. I can forgive almost anyone for almost anything. And I certainly would like to see ND be able to reclaim his reputation. But once burned,twice shy. And his previous declaration of restitution were unkept.

I don't have a horse in this race but given the choice of an escort who delays his appointments for months while holding on to the money and one who delivers right on time. I am going with the one that delivers. Forgive him, don't forgive him. You pay your money you take your choice. Good business sense says the best provider is the most reliable provider.
