Concerning the comments on this topic, and the thread concerning Brett, I am wondering about seperating the real from the fake. What to look for.

Spanker

I don't know if this will help but....I look at the reviews noting whether it is a first reviewer, whether there is a consistancy in the reviews by multiple reviewers; if the description matches the action and then check to see if there have been threads about the escort.

In addition I look to see which other escorts the escort partners with. If it is someone I know personally from experience and I trust their judgement it will help. Also after a while you can recognize some of the reviewers and know if they are generally reliable.

Remember though, it is always a gamble unless you know the players. I find if I trust my groin over the reviews and indicators, I have usually made a mistake.

Spanker, sometimes you can read the review and know it's bogus. A recent example copied directly from a Review of Gabe by a first time reviewer posted on Daddy's on 4/14/11:

Called Gabe for my first time hiring an escort. He was warm, friendly and amazing. He was completely understanding about my nervousness and let me set the pace. I was accommodating to my requests and passionate throughout our session. He is definitely worth booking and I will again when I am in town. First class all the way!
Unless this first time reviewer is a moron, the poster is lying about being the client and is really the escort writing his own review. Either way, it's a hilarious Freudian Slip and/or confession...

Plus it doesn't say anything really. Client is a first time hirer. Escort is warm, friendly and for a first time hirer, AMAZING? Escort understands nervous clients - well, duh. Then the faux pas.

But finally, what first-time hirer/reviewer (late 30's, 6'1" and 250 pounds) chooses MANCANDY for his posting name?

I mean, seriously? This is a legit review?

I enjoy writing reviews especially if i'd truly, truly enjoyed the company of the escort AND would like others to meet and experience the expertise and personality of the man! In my reviews I have been rather specific in what transpired in the hour or two. That way others would get a sense as to what the escort is like in personality as well as in his sexual attributes.

Last month I met an escort who was absolutely stellar. If you wish to read what I wrote--go to "TYGER" (Portland). In his last review, you can get a glimpse of what I personally include in reviews. You might also want to check out my review of Chorch (Buenos Aires) and go back as far as two years ago and view/read what I wrote regarding one of my very favorite men, DavidSF.

I enjoy writing reviews...
As do I... and ironically I usually have the review outlined in my mind by the end of the session... and usually with a certain connecting theme to keep things interesting. That was the scenario with David, Romann, Alex Williams, and a few others. However, there was one situation when the guy opened the door... he smiled... I melted... I knew straight away that we would be a match made in heaven... and instantly in a blazing flash of wildfire the entire concept for the review popped into my mind... The escort was Sean Knight and it was indeed a night to remember.

Fortunately I have experienced quite a few nights to remember and writing reviews certainly helps to reinforce the memories and at the same time does a service to hopefully insure that others will be able to experience similar encounters of the first magnitude.

As an addendum I must add that early in my review writing career I refrained from submitting negative reviews... but that was a mistake... The submission of a negative review is really more crucial and is actually more revealing and instructive than a positive review. I realized my error and subsequently posted warnings here in the message center as an attempt to make amends when I noticed that others were complaining as well... I then realized that if I had written that negative review I could have saved quite a few others some hard earned cash. One lives and learns...

A good review to me lists the escorts website or link to an advertisement where I can easily get some info and see pics, takes time to answer the questions (unfortunately I would prefer the truth over what is posted in the advertisement) like build, rates, height, weight, ethnic, body, smoking status, role etc. States whether the escort looks like his posted pictures or if (for example) they seem old and out of date. Tells whether the reviewer thinks the escort matches his posted stats (i.e. does he appear 20 like he listed or does he seem to be pushing 40). Tells about the experience (again it doesn't need to be a graphic novel, but I find any review that just says its private between us or answers question 'ask', completely useless). I do find a description of the reviewer to be useful, as well as whether or not the escort showed up on time, delivered what was promised, and whether or not the reviewer would hire the escort again and why or why not. Its a bonus for me if I can get some idea of what the reviewers experience was like and gain any insight into what activities (and I don't just mean sexual) the escort enjoys.

I ignore any review(er) that feels the need to take a shot at another reviewer who may have a difference of opinion. Yes its possible for you to have a great experience with an escort and for someone else to have a terrible experience with that same escort. I also get turned off reading reviews that sould like an advertisement or that try and make the escort sound like he literally can walk on water.

I don't mind first time reviewer's, but I do get suspicious when every single posted review is from a first time reviewer, especially when they are all written in the same style. I appreciate hearing about the reviewers experience hiring the escort-- did he promptly return emails, was he accessible, polite, did the reviewer have a pleasant booking experience and did the escort require phone contact.

Now we are turning this into a game of semantics… but I will give it a “go”.

A negative review would be indicated when the meeting did not produce a positive environment and the cause of the negativity rested squarely on the shoulders of the escort. Two examples: bogus photos and the failure to provide the services promised.

To put things in perspective I will give an example of what I don’t think should trigger a negative review: a simple mismatch of personalities for two individuals meeting for the first time. There are too many variables to place the blame on the escort alone. Plus, it is impossible to please every client 100 percent of the time in any business and even when that business is operating up to the highest standards.

Hopefully we won’t get too carried away and start parsing every word, phrase, and sentence posted here.

"Not A Good Time"...

Still, as usually BG gets to the essence of the matter… as having a "good time" and having fun is what it is all about... and that includes any discussions we are having here...

very nice

No..you answered my question perfectly. everybody's version of "negative" varies. very nicely written. Primarily I was referring to some discussions that came up in an earlier discussion. it wasn't meant to mince your words or anything. sorry if I offended.

Hey gc... No offense taken... you just caught me in a feisty mood most likely due to my recollection of a negative experience from a number of years ago where I should have written a scathing review and regrettably didn't. But heck, as I mentioned above, you live and learn... and it was a great learning experience.

Thanks, guys, for the info and posts here. Makes me realize how some of my reviews fall short in some key details I am leaving out. Mostly, my reviews are often a badly worded rendition of the memory as I replay it in my mind. The feeling the guys left me with, the smile I have on my face, and the blissful fatigue from being spent are what guide my review. Almost all of what is raised here are things I look for in other reviews, but know I might be lacking or leaving out in mine. Good question and this helps me better frame for the escort and my fellow posters.

Thanks Gc for starting this thread....sometimes I read other reviews and so many of what I think are the important details are left out and I wonder if I include to much.....but I want others to know what a great experience I had. My last review that hasn't been posted yet is for Matthew Ford and what happened during our session that in most cases would be a deal breaker! Read how he handled it and made it a positive experience, these are the details that we as clients need to know.

Sounds great...I can't wait to read the review and how a potential negative was turned into a positive for everyone.
