Lots and Lots... I sometimes write back and forth to guys for years... some guys I never meet even though we have communicated for long periods of time. it;s not all about communication for hire. Lots of times there are lots of phone calls and emails solely for friendly chat and just staying in touch... only a small portion of emails and phone calls or chatting is actually about establishing an meeting of discussing details.

Emails work best for me. texting works next and phone calls are really more difficult given time zones, work schedules and traveling etc.

So question for the escorts:

approximately how much of a percentage of your initial emails never blossom into anything?

approximately how much of a percentage of your phone calls?

I know this is subjective but IN MY EXPERIENCE the clients who CALL normally book 90% of the time. texting 50% and emailing about 30%. There is something about a really sexy, masculine voice that turns clients on and moves them from a maybe to a definite. That is why I encourage phone calls in my ads. Calling also allows me to get a feel for a new customer and a connection that, for me, is not possible via any other technology. Just my 2 cents guys.

This is just a guess on my part. I would say some guys who call never have any intention of booking. They are calling to get off for free on the phone with an escort. My rule is that is a client is serious over the phone, a booking should take 4 or less minutes. With that in mind, I'd say about 80% of guys who call will book. I think guys feel more are at ease hearing my friendly voice over the phone. I rarely get text messages, so I'd say 60% of guys who text will book, followed by a quick phone call to confirm. From emails, about 40% of those turn into clients. Emails are the worst. Some potential clients will email you to death before they book and the others email you because they need attention.

The dismal side

Yes I know...I'm starting to see the dismal side of escorting...for example, some of the game playing that goes on...the part where escorts play games with escorts..clients play games with escorts..and clients play games on other clients. and I'm Not saying that EVERYBODY does this!!!!!!!!!! But I don't understand why it has to be done at all to begin with?? I've always come from a "i want what's best for everybody" type of mentality and do things in line with that.

Lately I've started running across the darker side of people's personalities. I've found as it so often does in real life, a few bad apples will end up ruining the batch. what's worse is I don't know what people hope to gain in the long run over most of it. i strive to see the goodness in all people and I wish that all of us could just get along.

And I'm not talking about ONE specific instance here so let's not start writing saying "what have you heard? did you hear about...?" because no I haven't heard about.... I'm just talking about over time and in general.

Very often it is not possible to have telephone contact. The privacy for the phone call may not be available at a mutually convenient time. This is why I use email. Don't know how to text and prefer not to.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this...but I thought it fit right in.

Just curious but in which medium are you running into the "dismal" side of folks? I find it is very easy for some to "play games" via email and less so with texting and even less so via phone calls and certainly the least in person. However, there are those who seemingly cannot resist game playing regardless. It may be an entirely different game from the one you perceive but a game nonetheless. I don't know if they need "help" (some likely do) or just some social adjustments but there you have it.

Best regards,

KMEM

this is a response to N13's post above concerning it not being possible to call. So back in the day before emailing and texting and all this tech stuff the client HAD to call. There was no other way. The business was still taken care of even before there ever was a rentboy. I will state it again: The clients who CALL are almost always serious and unless you are rude to them or they percieve you to be disinterested they will almost always book. Calling displays an interest on a personal level with the escort. Now, I will see people who don't call but the ones who call are on the top of my list. I do not mean to disparage technology but you can get away for 5 minutes or lock your door or go to your car or go to the bathroom and find a way to call. This reminds me of potential clients who have to, "Check their schedule," or who say, "I will call you back." They never do. Those two phrases give away a non-serious client. I wish everyone a great day!

All of you guys carefully guard you "real life" identity and personally, I am fanatical about protecting mine! My email accounts are all double blind and the telephone I use for play dates is a "burn" phone paid for with cash and all air time is purchased in advance also with cash. The phone only comes on on scheduled play dates.

There is no connection with anything in my real life. I have too much to loose if it goes sour.

As a result all of my initial communications are through these email accounts. Only after I've decided that a guy is a go for me am I willing to release contact numbers.

You know what they say, "it's not paranoia if someone's out to get you!"

Maybe my experiences are different but emails are no less promising than phone calls. Whenever I plan a trip, I create a separate email folder for everyone who emails me in that city and refer back to it about a day prior to touch base with everyone. In addition, emails help me remember things better because I can always go back and re-read it as a refresher.

Calls, well I appreciate them too...but I rather leave those for same-day appointments. I even ask anyone who calls, to email me from my ad and just mentioned that we spoke earlier.

I always say, Paranoid is OK as long as it comes in PAIRS! Double-Blind Email accounts, Cash Burn Phone loaded with cash, turned on only on days with dates? I'd say you're working on Quintnoid.

LOL! Just teasing. I protect myself, too. But not to that extreme. Hell, I do have an iPhone so SOMEONE knows where I've been!

Could you please explain how you set up a double blind email account? I have set up a couple of accounts, but I think they are probably not as secure as yours. Thanks.

What does that mean?

I'll take a stab at that, but this is only a guess... You set up an email account at a huge server, ie. Yahoo, AOL, GMail, Hotmail, etc., then you set up another email address at one of the huge servers referring back to the first email - they almost always require another email address, but you give a minimum of information that is required to establish the second email. Then you set up a third email address at one of the huge servers again giving a minimum of information. Oh, and all the info you give is different and changes between each of the three email addresses.

At this point, you have set up that third email account that links back to the second and the second one links back to the first, or maybe not. But you're 'email address' for rentboys is 2 times removed from who/what/where you are.

That's about it - but you then set up automatic forwarding to kick from the account name you give out to the account you access. You must use one of the services that let's you set the "reply from" email address so you can still click reply and it shows up as from the address 1. Different services have different options.

GT has it. You can create an anonymous account on most servers. But it requires auto forwarding to ne able to have an email address that people send to but a second or third address you receive and reply on.
