Automated Vacation Response and Routine Email Response time

Just recently, I received my first automated vacation response from an escort. He was out of the country in the part of the world with no cellular service and very limited internet. I immediately thought it was a great idea and was thrilled to get it. It showed a lot of forethought so that clients/potential clients wouldn't feel ignored. So I was wondering have you ever used it? I think it'd be great if you are going to be unreachable for a couple of days to put a quick auto responder message so that people contacting you would know why you aren't getting back to them.

Which was an offspring of another discussion. How long is your normal response time between receipt of an email and a response? What would you consider an acceptable lag time if you were waiting for a response from someone? At what point do you know you are just being ignored? For example, I'm waiting a response to a few specific questions from an escort and it's been over a month. Nothing complex, very simple questions. Clients: at what point would you assume the guy has written you off? Escorts: do you ever just not respond at all to a client you don't want to see anymore?

Lastly, do you check your spam folder regularly to check for something that may have been placed there inadvertently?

Thanks guys!

I do so agree. this is another way that an escort can "raise" his level of service and something that may set him apart from others in a client's mind.

Hopefully this reply came from an escort you have been in contact with previously and he sent the reply to only go to known email addresses. From a personal safety perspective, it isn't always good to send the "out of office" message to every contact with that much detail.

I only give one attempt. Since most escorts I hire are well reviewed and travel frequently, I take the approach of assuming that when I send an email, it may take up to a week to get a response. Whether the reply is one hour or one week, it is good for me. In the rare situation I get no response, I simply move on to someone else. A few months later, I may attempt to contact the escort again, but my message always assumes that the first message was never read.

Lee, buddy, I've got some news for you. If you've been waiting for a response for a month, then it's time to scratch him off your list and move on. Why would you want to spend time with someone so unresponsive!

Anything over 24 hours sends caution flags my way and unless they acknowledge the late response, I move on! Too many men and too little time to put up wit bullshit!

My emails go straight to my iPhone, so the vast majority get immediate or same day response. If I'm exceptionally busy, it might be next day. My spam folder is checked daily. Problematic clients are politely informed that we're not a good match and then added to my blocked senders list. If I were ever without internet service, I think an automated response would be a sensible measure. If you've been waiting for a month, you may as well be Waiting for Godot...

Hi Lee;

I generally reply immediately.....(If I'm at home, the laptop is ALWAYS on) & if I'm out, the emails go right to my phone.

My thinking has always been that a potential client has a "short list" of possible escorts he'd like to see while in town...I don't want to blow my chances of NOT getting the gig because of a delayed response.

I run my escorting career like I do my primary career: LIKE A BUSINESS.

I haven't had the need for an automated response as of yet, but GREAT idea!

By the way.................after meeting you in Palm Springs (and just in GENERAL)...anyone who makes you wait more than a day for a response is TOTALLY losing out!!!

I've never understood that line of thinking.

(Just my two cents worth!).

And that is why you are not only a rockstar but a superstar as well.

And thank you.

Most days I check my email often and it is my intention to respond ASAP. But the reality is that I get dozens and dozens of inquiries, spam and junk mail every single day. And there are days when I am in a place with little to no connectivity, and now and then I take a couple days vacation from looking at my email. Which to my thinking is no more unreasonable than any other business taking a weekend off. Just that with escorts our weekend might be tuesday and wednesdeay, or whenever.

I also get contacted (often via Men4Rent for some reason) a lot where the email was apparently typed (by the client presumably) incorrectly and the email bounces.

This can all be quite frustrating. Also quite frustrating is the ENORMOUS amount of spam I get from some clients who never followed through with an appointment and yet I deal every week with spam from their email account. Arrrggggh!
