Hey Guys;

My first phone call of the day at 10am this morning, was from a potential new client staying in town..He had originally called me on Monday to schedule an appt for later that evening, (but never called back to confirm as he said he would). I recognized his voice but didn't say anything about Monday's appt, (besides the fact that he gave me a different name)...

As the call proceeded, he asked if I had any availability today...my reply was that I had just woken up (due to his call!) & I could meet him at his hotel within the hour. His next question is why I'm posting: "Do you have a day rate?"

I replied that if he meant hiring me for the whole day, I did....he quickly said "No, I just thought that I could get a discount because I'm hiring you during the day.".....

Boys....am I missing something here? This is a new one for me!

Wow, "I only want to share my most intimate physicality with a guy who discounts what he does with me based on when he does it with me."

I think you should have said, "Why yes, I do have a half-off day rate, but I don't shower, use lube, or a new condom (it's the used one from last night. Oh, and by the way, I'm going to show up wearing the same clothes as last night, too."

Ace, I get the impression that some guys out there read "day" or "weekend" rate and mistakenly assume that the hourly rates for days or weekends differ from their perceived prime evening hours. Just a hunch on my part. Chalk it up to their inexperience?

It's been a long time, but I do remember once seeing an escort advertise 'afternoon specials' - presumably business was slow and he was trying to drum up extra $$.

I've always assumed that the majority of appoiintments were in the evening (or outside normal 8-5 working hours) - is that true?

Still, Ace, it seems like an odd question.

I have seen similar ads over the years in Ft Laud and NYC - basically advertising "A Businessmen's Special" at a

lower/fixed rate for a 45-90 minute during midday hours.

But those were few and far between and not posted by highly reviewed and regarded gentleman callers.

I always tend to the mid-day/mid-afternoon for an appointment with a first time meeting. i'd like my guy to be fresh and I prefer the first date of the day. After I get to know him, and his habits, evenings can be fun. But I never hire for an overnight - a. I like to sleep; b. I don't like to pay some else to sleep; c. I don't want the hassle of getting out of the house in the AM with a houseguest or as a guest.

I've seen some ads from time to time that have had similar, a reduced rate for a weekday daytime appointment. I also recall seeing an ad or two that had a discounted rate for a particular day of the week (but I can't remember what day... Tuesday maybe?). But like the others, these are few and far between and I can't remember the last time I saw that kind of promotion.

Considering the other circumstances with the cancellation and pretending to be someone else, it all adds up to a big negative.

Anton, among others, has a day rate and also an evening rate. The concept is that you spend a longer block of time together, and in the past I've spent several hours with him touring Amsterdam and having a meal. Usually the longer time involved two sessions of sex - a quicker "tear off your clothes and get down to it" at the beginning and then a longer more intimate session at the end. A very pleasurable way to spend a day or evening - and I think that unless the escort normally plans to turn tricks hour by hour, the only additional cost is the extra time spent. The fee is for the full block of time, and less than what the total hourly rate would be. I'd never do this on my first encounter, since I'd want to be sure I get along with a guy first, but it is a very very pleasurable way to spend a day or evening. I don't especially like overnights as I have a hard time actually sleeping with a stranger.

Back to the original question - I don't remember ever seeing an actual less expensive rate for a daytime appointment.

Sounds as if that guy is just wasting your time. My guess is that he read your ad and new already that you didn't have a special discount rate for during the day. He just wanted you to offer him one right there on the spot. I was recently contacted by a potential client who wanted to hire me during the day. He said that he always gets a special discount rate and NEVER pays regular price. I suggested that he contact one of his escorts who gives him a "special day rate." I know very few escorts, however none of them give any special day discount rate.

Ace,

My experience with clients who start about discounts is that you don't want to meet them at all. Those who start to ask for discounts often end up giving trouble when they're supposed to pay at the end of the session. (Not all of them, but more often than not there are "payment issues" at the end with these types of requests.)

I take high value in offering a service of high standard. And when the service is with class and style and as intimate and exciting as can be, I don't see why the compensation should be "below mediocre".

Just muy €0.02

Warmest, Anton

I agree 100% that clients who start out asking for discounts are probably clients you don't want to meet. All my ads have my price clearly posted, but that doesn't seem to matter. I get a few calls a week from potential clients who call and want to know what my price is. I inform them that it's stated in my ad at $200/hr. Then they'll usually say, "Oh, I only have $150, is that enough?" Sometimes it's $100 that they will only have. My guess is that they know exactly what my fee is before they call me and that somehow they think that it doesn't apply to them. I'll respond by saying that I'm sorry my fee is $200 as stated in the ad. I think that serious clients who know about escorting expect to pay around $200 and won't play games with you

These very same folks don't negotiate with their doctor while he's only sticking one finger up their tokus! Bring me an expert, I don't care what he charges! LOL! FYI, my doctor is 5'1" tall with the smallest fingers I ever saw on a man!

I had a guy give me hell on the phone yesterday. wanting to know if i have a introductory price? I told him no that i charge 75hr or 100 for ninety minutes and that most consider that reasonable considered that 9 out of 10 of those on massage m4m have absolutely no training and some of those are charging 100+ hr. He then asked if i would do 30 minutes for 40.00 I again told him no that I don't take clients for less than 1hr and for no less than the advertised rate. He was like you are telling me that you are saying no to 30 minutes of your time and a easy 40 bucks. I said yes that's what i'm saying and hung up..

The doctor analogy comes to mind here, too! The doctor charges new patients MORE because he/she has to setup the patient files and insurance billing information. Maybe you should say, "I don't charge my new patients any more than my established patients!"

iv been having a problem lately with social networking type sites. people will recognize me from massage m4m on those sites. they don't know how to separate what a person puts on their personal profiles and what they put in their business ads
