God! Who developed this site? It's hard to believe that one of the foremost escort sites could be associated with one of the crappiest review sites. I'm sure there are a few interesting reviews in there, but there's no way to get to them. You can only browse the first 50 entries, including entries for escorts with no reviews, and the search function errors out if you try to put in any search text. Anyone have any influence with the guys who run Rentboy who can get them to clean up this mess?

I would use my (very limited) influence to suggest they abandon the effort and simply link to this site instead, as rentmen does. I'm not a fan of a site which makes money from escorts also providing escort reviews. There's a reason Consumer Reports doesn't accept outside advertising.

 

As long as I'm at it, I would then like to see those freed up resources used to fix a few glitches on the main site as well. But using rentboy to find the guys and this site to vet them works pretty darn well.

A great analogy Kevin. I only use Daddy's for reviews and recommendations. Either the reviews, or the 411s or the writings and postings of the escorts that may tell me even more about them than even their reviews do.

 

That's one reason I regret so few escorts post here. I learn an awful lot about them from their writing here. Every escort I've hired is a member of the forum and most post, with varying degrees of frequency. That's why when we have a new escort join the forum (like we did this week with Mar) I encourage them to join in -- it helps me and, maybe it's naivete, I think it helps them too.

Kevin -- as always, your ideas about RENTBOY are completely on target -- I wish YOU ran the site. At least we would know that the guy(s) behind it knows something about clients, escorts and what each needs. Like Lee has said -- I depend 95% on THIS site (and on GAYROMEO) for reviews. period. I also like RENTMEN as it references directly to this site for reviews.

I don't know why more escorts don't visit this site and post. All of my wish list is from escorts who post here.

I also would like it if more escorts participated on the forum, both from broadening the input we currently receive but also as a potential source of a hiring. I agree with Lee that we can gain some useful insights from their posts.

 

I do give some added weight to hiring certain escorts who have been reviewed here (over other review sites as well) but it is only one of many things I consider in my due diligence. While my preference may be to hire only reviewed escorts on Daddy's site, it is often not practical to do so and I have to expand my opportunities and consider other input, including other review sites. So far, I have had good results (and perhaps half of my reviews recently are first time reviews for escorts).

 

We would certainly become somewhat of an inbred community here (and rather uninteresting) if there wasn't a fresh supply of new reviews. So we are fortunate that there are people who take the chances with un-reviewed escorts and post reviews for the benefit of others. As an aside, since the beginning of the year a snapshot of reviews shows that roughly 1 in 4 reviews posted were of first time reviewed escorts (85 first time of a total of 320). I think that while it would be great for it to be higher, it is pretty good in that it does keep things fresh with new guys to consider and discuss.
