I'm brand new here, and apologize if this has been discussed before.

I have found over the past couple years that I tend to research possible hires by googling their phone numbers for other ads, pics and information. Does anyone else do this? My main curiosity is to find out if they are legit or not. I've come to find out that some of the more interesting guys I consider on sites such as backpage tend to have multiple ads from the same phone number for different types. For example, a really cute latino guy that was just my taste ended up showing two transexual ads (I assume his close friends or "coworkers") under the same phone number on different websites. Maybe they're sharing this phone for their appointments, but it turned me off to hiring him because of the possible sketchiness and feeling that discretion might not be his top priority.

I'm just curious if it's something any of you other guys do before hiring.

Weclome, gardeneer. If you search this site, you'll find multiple instances in which posters have done this.

Been hiring for quite some time now and I've never thought of googling a potential hires' phone number. Guess I should start. Sounds like one more good precaution to take to help steer clear of the few "bad apples" out there.

since I live in PIttsburgh - which is pretty deprived of quality escorts - there really is not a reason to google someone's number. If any escorts do come to Pgh they are usually one's of noteriety and usually well reviewed and well known ones. I can understand why someone would google a phone number but I do think that is an invasion of privacy. To me, we know that we are hiring someone who wishes to have remain somewhat discreet and anonymous and who is going by a fake name and that is part of the deal with hiring an escort.

I always Google the phone numbers. Like gardeneer, I have found transvestites or transsexuals on the same number. In a couple of cases it was pretty clear it was the same person. I also Google the e-mail address. That can also yield interesting results.

I do not think that it is an invasion of privacy to look at publicly available cyberinfo. We all risk safety and security when we invite unknown people in, or visit unknown people in their space. A little extra knowledge may help avoid a serious mistake. I also leave information on my computer. If anything happened to me someone could deduce where I had gone or who had visited me, from the computer. I have never had a problem (don't want one) but I have thought that if one came up, being able to say truthfully what information was available to my family and police if something happened to me might protect me.

The same goes for escorts. The Craig's list killer was a client—not an escort. I suspect that escorts Google clients at least as much as clients Google escorts. Information is not a bad thing. It is only bad if it is used badly.

Would it be a good idea to ask "Daddy" to enhance this website so that you could search for escorts on the upper right right hand query box (where the little magnifying glass is) by cell phone #?

I searched for a well-known "bad apple" using his cell phone # this way. I may have made a mistake, but nothing showed up. It seems you can only easily search for an escort on "Daddy's" using his name. If this is wrong, please share the correct information.

Thanks, guys.

I have - usually when someone new who looks interesting suddenly pops up on RB or one of the other sites. Almost always I get no others hits on the number. Sometimes it leads me back here and once in awhile I'll get back a whole bunch of personal information that makes me think "what was this guy thinking when he used his real phone number?"I don't do it to spy - really - but more to check for other ads/reviews. I'm always wary when I can't find anything else.
