Well, first of all we all know that sex doesn't stop after 60.

 

I know from my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that retirement homes are far more active, sexually, than any community on daytime TV. With women outnumbering men, the women get loose or get nothing.

 

There were times when visiting each of them they wanted to introduce me to a neighbor but he was busy with his "nephew". (They said it that way -- with air quotes -- in three different decades.) The times I saw "nephew" leaving, he was probably worth the price per hour.

 

They thought nothing of it. You'll probably be able to get it, everyone will know you're doing it, and nobody will give a crap as long as you can carry a conversation at dinner.

Most extended care facilities have doors which can be closed and the policy of most of those places, the good ones certainly, is that a knock at the door is required and a response to come in or stay out expected. Not a nursing home, but several years ago I moved in next to a house occupied by an 80ish man who had lost his wife a few years earlier. A friend of mine who was in a skilled nursing facility objected to the constant visits by clergymen. He solved the problem by putting a sign on his door, "Do not disturb- conjugal visit in progress". It worked and kept the clergy away. I suspect it would be a good solution to keep people away when you have "a private visit by a friend"
