I am in a quandry; thus I ask this question with a brief preface.

I am quite interested in seeing an escort who is HIV+ and lives and works in the San Francisco Bay area. He also does hot porn flicks. My question is: If we were to make an appointment--would i have to use a condom when sucking his dick? He'd definitely wear one if I were to bottom for him. In rimming his hot ass--would a dental damn or cut condom be necessary? What about deep, wet kissing?

I have pamphlets from clinics that I've received and read, but I'd like to know from you who are in the field. Does one have to use "barriers" when being with an HIV+ partner?

This man really turns me on from his ad as well as from one dvd of his which I've purchased.

I am not a physician, but I would definitely use a condom on him with any oral and certainly use a condom if you top him. Personally, I would not attempt any rimming, and I would not engage in any deep, wet kissing. While HIV transmission is not normally associated with kissing, he could have a lesion in his mouth or throat that he does not even know existed. If he is HIV+, he should know what he can and should not do, especially if he does porn flicks. If you have a physician you can confide in, I would certainly talk with him in advance of any meeting with this guy you want to see. I would also check out some of the resources on line regarding such activities. As you probably know, any exchange of bodily fluids presents a risk.

Hi Axiom.

Are you looking for the advice of escorts ('you who are in the field')? That is where you posted.

I think its a tough one Because I feel staying safe is a individuals responsibility and no ones responsible for ones health but ones self. I personally feel any precautions that you feel you might need to take with him you should take with anyone you hire or don't know very well and the assumption anyone or everyone could be positive. I assume since you state he is hiv + that its in his ads or he is upfront about it with his potential clients with either case I admire his honesty. However how many escorts have you hired that didn't state their status that you didn't use a condom for oral? who's to say they arn't positive as well and didn't divulge the info.

If he is under HARRT then his viral load will be probably low so as long as you use a condom everything should be fine. There is always a risk no matter who you have sex with. I think it is more dangerous to have sex with a guy who is not aware that he is HIV positive and not receiving any treatment.

"Safe sex" is not totally safe, but is only safer. Accidents can always happen and in ways that are not predictable. A splash of cum in the eye? A splash on the others dick? A transfer by mutual masturbation? If you are uncircumcised you need to know that you are at greater risk.

There are plenty of websites providing guidelines, but you need to determine how much risk you are willing to take. I personally do not hire escorts whom I know or suspect to be positive. Some escorts disclose it. Others say "sometimes safe" in their Rentboy ads, or do not respond to that question on Rentboy. Or they say "anything goes", "don't hesitate to ask for what you want", "few limits" etc. You cannot know everyone who is positive, and you should always practice "safer" sex. But if you eliminate those known or believed to be positive, you reduce the risk even more.

If you are going to worry about it later, the worry is part of the risk.

Let's not be naive. Many escorts are HIV+ but don't disclose it. A few years ago, I was emailing an escort well known to this site and one who is very popular, about setting up an appt. One email said yes, he loved bb, and he was positive. It was unrelated to our emails. He then emailed me to say he had sent that email to me by mistake, it was supposed to go to a buddy he was hooking up with. You should treat each escort as if he was HIV+. I thought to myself "If people only knew."

Why don't you guys police yourself and start a listing of HIV+ escorts? Unfortunately, I think I know the answer - it would be too easy to sabotage someone without any information - not everything you read on the internet is true. NO WAY! LOL

Well most clients are not naive, they know. I hang out with many HIV+ friends and I don't think there is nothing to worry about as long as you are careful. I feel much safer with them. Hugs~~

I've had a couple of decades worth of unprotected oral sex at blow buddies in SF and I'm still neg. I draw the line at having

guys cum in my mouth. (Yeah, I know for folks not on HAART precum could contain virus also, but I can taste the precum and stop).

How's that for some kerosene for the fire!
