I have been hiring escorts, for approximately ten years, and I never cease to be amazed by the guys who runs ads with absolutely horrible photographs. The worst have to be the cellphone shots which include the photographer holding the phone. Professional photographers are not that expensive. As far as I'm concerned if an escort doesn't care enough to present himself in a professional manner why should I care enough to consider hiring him. My pet peeve!!!!!

I agree it's good to hire professional photographers. Sometimes self taken pictures tell a lot of that person, however. It is interesting in that sense. I didn't meet that person but I can predict some of person's characteristics. Not always right but it is interesting to me. It is the same thing when you visit your friend's house or room. You can tell a lot about that person.

Sometimes, natural shots give you a better idea of what an escort looks like instead of professional photos taken from flattering angles with flattering lighting.

Getting decent photo's isn't that hard too do. I always shot all of my own massage site photos' they were always clear and new ones taken every few months. A mid range digital camera tripod and the timer and you are set. I do think photo's with the camera showing or the flash going off in a mirror are tacky something with cell phone photos. Out of all of the profiles and homepages iv looked at IMO

Brandan Steele Has the best photo's iv seen. If the label upscale was used That's the name that would pop up in my mind

Josephga you are absolutely correct. Brandon Steele does post great photographs. You made me realize that it might be a good idea to post the names of some other escorts who have outstanding photographs on their websites or in their ads. These photographs just might help some new escorts understand what about we are talking.

I like professional photos to select escorts but I often request a face picture taken with cellphone because too professional isn't always natural (Photoshop, ...) or are used for scam.

I agree on crummy cell phone photos, what bothers me more are old-2 years or more. Especially as styles change, not big on hairstyle but have walked into a few meetings where the picture showed clean shaven and now bearded or vice versa, shaved head to pony-tail which on most men I dislike immensely; hairy chest vs smooth. The photos should at least represent who you are. I would prefer a smile, like to see the teeth. I can usually deal with these issues but it does make one pause and wonder is this person I have hired. I also dislike cropped photos with female arms drapped around. Photos look like they were taken 50 feet away. Sexy clothes can be hot, but if you advertise as a muscle guy can we see some chest and arms. Dont mind the personal stuff covered up but nice pair of hot jeans, swmsuit or something. Damn if you are hot guy with some hot clothes show it off in style, not necessarily porn but style baby.

How about just poorly done ads? This is business 101 and I know some guys are challenged here but some basics.

1. Your product is you. Write your ad first, proof it and then copy it in. Use Word or something to check spelling.

2. Know who you are selling to. For the most part gentlemen with discretionary income, probably college educated.

3. Dont lie about your description or what you get into. Take some time and think about what you are writing.

4. If you are going to plagiarize someone else's ad, at least change a few words.

5. If you are going to play the "I need to pay the rent or tuition" try to be creative and funny.

6. No one picture ads, please you need at least 4 good shots. I never even contact 1 or 2 picture guys.

I am in total agreement with Brandan's photos. I just got a beautiful new photo of him sent a couple days ago. In my opinion, one of his best so far. A few days ago, I did email him to see if we could get together, and although the meeting was unable to take place, he did attach the photo I mentioned. Still, I feel he looks better in person.

I was talking about this issue with an escort friend recently. First of all, most cell phones take pretty decent pictures...why not just get a friend over to take some shots. Even if you don't want to spring for a professional, that's going to give you better pics.

And just curious...what percentage of folks are into watersports? Why do so many guys have self-taken pictures of themselves peeing. From the angle shown, it's alway more a toilet shot than anything else. And did anyone else notice the photos of the gentleman, who had a gorgeous body and huge dick leaning over an outside trash-can looking like he was throwing up? Is that anyone's fantasy?

Finally, in regards to the writing of the ad, I would be curious to know what percentage of client really get off on the gangsta' language. Maybe I'm wrong, but when someone mentions that they are perfect for the man who wants to get their freak on, I pass to the next ad.

I don't mind the guy holding his own cell phone. The worst part of those is that it was easy to see immediately (on the same cell phone) that the photos were bad and need to be taken over. It's not like he had to wait for the prints to come back from Walgreen's! That's the image he *chose* for himself?

 

A little self-editing really does go a long way.

I'm not a professional photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but I have a professional quality DSLR and I've enjoyed taking a few photos of several escorts ... some of which have actually been used in advertising. It's fun, and they usually enjoy it too.

My own preference is for good photos (but not these newly enhanced or modified ones that make models look like plastic); I never hire a guy who has simply the mobile phone photos, though including one or two in a series is not a bad idea as you can see if the professional photos and the amateur ones "match". I rarely will hire anyone without a head shot, and prefer a guy who has been reviewed to see if he is legit. For this reason in general I do NOT hire from Men4RentNow. Photos are not clear often, and too small to see detail.

I beg to differ on the men4rent photos.

1. You have the opportunity to post 12 photos, what is stupid are gentlemen who repeat the same photo several times to fill the spots.

2. The nice part of photos on men4rent is you can enlarge the photos but clicking on them and then stay in the enlarged photo sequence and click to the next. That is one of the items I wished rentboy would add to their site, the ability to click and enlarge the photos. Yes it is rare to find items that men4rent has over other sites but that is one of them, the other is seeing the multiple cities a traveling escort is/likes to travel to, I think you can have up to 4.

I don't know why, but it annoys me sometimes when people make a mockery like this by insinuating only 'gangsters' talk like this. I'm from Brooklyn NY, the 'hood' and I'm originally from uptown Manhattan, and I know plenty who talk like that who are well educated and more profound than some NYU graduates. We're only a product of our environment.

 

Anyway, I'm with you all though. I don't really like glossed up pro photos though. I've never been a fan of photoshop and perfect lighting when it came to porn or escort pictures. I like grit of seeing candid photos that show off pure sexiness without aesthetics and technology.

iv heard that too. I use to take 30 to 50 shots for my massages ads and would sometimes to get that 1 or 2 pics to use then trash the rest
