On this website, and his own blog, "GQPro" made some educational comments about tipping, and lack thereof, especially by rich, cheap

clients. Still speaking as someone new to all this, I didn't even know that tipping was part of the escort world. When escorts advertise their rates, why not say something like:

hourly rate $200 [any tips always appreciated]

...or something more elegantly worded. Does this sound gauche or possibly too desperate?

A tip is for a waiter who recieves a low hourly wage and depends on the tip to live, or a valet or any number of service level jobs. We escorts are highly paid professionals and thus are not dependent upon nor expecting of a tip. My hourly is sufficient and any extra is accepted, of course, but does not make me any more likely to see or not see that client again. If certain clients feel that my performance was amazing and worth more than what I ask then by all means I appreciate additional cash. it make you feel good like you did a great job. But, listen, guys, in this economy you are NOT expected to tip and if an escort stands there with his hand out for more then that is utterly unprofessional behavior. just my opinion. http://www.rentboy.com/mikey9nola1

Would visitors to this thread consider tipping more of

a "masseur"- thing?

I had a friend that was a massage therapist in the same town I worked from. He refused tips He said he was a therapist and that dentist and doctors didn't recieve tips and he found it a tacky process. I didn't care one way or the other if I got tips or not. id rather have a person book once or twice a week and never tip than book once and leave a giant tip.

The general rule is that if a person is independent or owns his own business and sets his own fee, you are not be expected to give him a tip. If he works for someone else who sets the fee and receives a part thereof, a tip is customary.

As a Escort as I am, I feel no need for tips. I do get them and that is only because I went above and beyond what the client wanted and needed and provided a professional session for them. To ask for tips directly to your client is rude. IF you don't do a good enough job, the client REALLY, doesn't even have to donate for your time..................................And that's from a professional stand point.

Who mentioned anything about asking a client directly for a tip? Of course that is rude and that isn't what a tip is all about. Of course I don't expect a tip but it's always nice to receive one if you did something above and beyond your client's expectations. From a "professional stand point" I think most escorts try to do a good job and for a client not to pay him is very unprofessional. If a client is that unhappy, they should at least pay half. There are a number of reasons why a client may be unhappy with an escort and it may not entirely be the fault of the escort
