Economists are calculating their statistics as the year comes to an end, so I thought I'd do an informal survey of escorts here. How would you characterize your business in the past year? How did it compare to 2009? What has been your benchmark most profitable year in the business? Trend watchers would like to know.

2,010 was my best year ever and I did very little traveling at all. The whole world comes to new orleans at least once a year. Local regulars are amazing and consistent and new clients are always looking to book. 20% increase over my best previous year. Looking forward to '11 as I am starting to tour and travel again for overnights/weekends. Happy New Year to all! http://www.rentboy.com/mikey9nola1

For me 2010 was also better than the previous year. I travel a big deal both in Europe and in the USA. I don't keep statistics unlike others, but I have a good idea of the progress and evolution in 2010. If we take the Big Apple as an example: business was slower in 2008 and 2009 during the crisis and one could clearly feel that by the number of inquiries, whereas in 2010 was progressively increasing to reach the pre-crisis level of business. The end of the year was very good for me. I had a rather busy month of December, in contrast with what has been said that the pre-Christmas period is usually slower. I visited Paris in mid-December and had one of the most profitable visits in years (even had to extend my stay). In a few days I earned what I usually earn in a month when I'm home. Or how a day feeds a year ...

From what I've been noticing, people aren't blowing money on wrapped gifts for other people anymore (which I've always thought was ridiculous anyway as few ever got what they wanted). In fact, I've gone to 2 Christmas-house parties this year and have yet to see either with a bunch of presents under the tree. People seem to be doing more 'get together' type events for the holidays rather than splurging on gifts...so I cant see why Christmas would be slow in this day and age. If anything, people want to get away from the family!

As for stats...this year has been pretty good, overnights definently played their part. But, I agree with Mikey, it depends where you're at. There has definently been more guys entering the industry these past 2 years, and frankly I choose not to operate in the larger cities anymore. The economy seemed to have bought forth a swarm of hustlers in larger cities that accept whatever crumbs are thrown out to them rather than sticking to a firm reasonable rate...and now that the economy is improving, people haven't caught on, but some clients are still expecting $50 and $100 sessions. I'm here in Miami and I am utterly stunned at how much business has changed (and the city itself has too) here in comparison to Spring 2008 when I could meet a client at any given time. Yet there doesn't seem to be a decrease in the amount who are advertising.

2009 was boring in the beginning, but towards the middle it turned around pretty quickly.

My business was simply incomparable this year than what it was in 2009. In the middle of last year, my first review got published but because of the economy and Las Vegas' loss in tourism my revenue was generally speaking good but less than half of what I made in 2010. In 2010, I traveled all over the world with clients. Been to Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle-East and numerous parts of the United States. Had a chance to meet many CEOs and very highly ranked professionals from all fields and these acquaintances were also very useful for mental and not just financial reasons. To summarize, 2009 was good, 2010 was incredible and went beyond all my expectations or dreams of mine. The first half of my 2011 is already booked with even more international travels so I certainly look forward to the next coming year! It is also a huge delight for me to see the percentage of repeating clients... it always makes me appreciate of being in this industry and the people I meet!

Funny you should ask this question I just received this (edited) email from my very favorite and well trusted investment broker yesterday.

Hey David !

Welcome to 2011….and hope this note finds you happy and passionate as usual.

You & I did pretty good last year and wanted to thank and congratulate you for staying 'on plan' all year !

Here are your numbers as of 12/31/2010: (all % return numbers are adjusted for your contributions)

edit edit edit .............................................

The +18.3% total return on your $$ here compares favorably to the benchmarks : Dow: + 11.2% S & P 500: + 12.78% Nasdaq: + 16.91%

While I pay very little attention to this information and just contribute monthly without fail this was far better than 2009 when i saw a huge drop in the numbers and began to bury the money in the back yard hoping a tree would grow. :p

As I look back at 2010 I saw Africa, Asia revisited Europe more than a couple times.

I saw my own bed only 33 days out of the year.

Met some of the nicest men in the world made great money and saw places I never thought I would ever see.

Sometimes we read on this MC that this forum is a very small part of our business. OK maybe true, but every client that has taken me from Beijing to Tanzania to OKC to Podunk to Tokyo to Berlin found me here.

Read my reviews read my posts and developed a liking for me right here.

To be fair I also did not see a decrease in business when I stopped posting on the MC and the reviews were less frequent.

Who Knows but the value of the dollar and the value of the quality of the experiences we get to share in our lives make not one bit of difference if we are not happy and grateful for everything we have right now today.

So I say 2011 will be the best year ever and 2010 still reigns KING

As someone who met David-sf for the first time this year, I would agree that this message center has been a place to form an impression of escorts' personalities from their posts. I suspect David's business has now hit "critical mass" where very satisfied repeat customers and people who learned about him here and want to take him on trips, etc., make it less necessary for him to post regularly. But it's good to check in from time to time just to remind us all and to let newcomers know about him. I've noted quite a few newcomers to the message center over the past month or so!

Hi David and welcome back to the forum... I have not read your postings for quite a while (although it is maybe because I have not been on this forum for quite long), either way "Hi". I have to agree with you that most of my clients who I travel with exclusively were from this website and I would like to say SPECIAL THANKS TO DADDY! Without you, we would not be as successful as we are!

XOXO
