Adam4Adam: Masseur or escort?

A question for client and escorts...what do you think about listing yourself as a masseur or escort? I see alot of guys advertising as a masseur...and sometimes it seems that I get better responses listing as a masseur than an escort. But then I just feel like I should not put masseur because it seems like I'm ashamed of being an escort.

 

But, do you think people probably feel 'safer' hiring a 'masseur' than an escort? Or is it just all in my head and neither one matters?

I have given up on adam4adam. In my opinion it is an unprofessional site full of drug addicts. The clients are not serious and try to hook up for free (after all it is a hook up site) I reccomend all of us escorts support rentboy and m4rn. I am finding a lot of business on craigslist therapeutic services for the massage end of the business. Just my thoughts. I was on A4A for a while and got a few clients off there but for what they are offering at $30 a month just doesn't seem worth it for now. Maybe later on down the line I might go back for the added exposure. Right now I am concentrating on Rent Men (who imo gives the most bang for our buck) and *shudders* Men 4 Rent Now. I will say that I am kind of liking the wanted list the clients post on. Now to the op's topic (sorry). I think that there is more of an emotional connection most of the time and that isn't for every guy. With the massage sure it's intimate but I don't think that there is that full emotional connection. Just my thoughts.

Rentmen is such a wonderful and professionally run site and it really caters to the escort but for whatever reason I do not get many clients from it. For me Rentboy and m4rn are amazingly successful. I just don't think most clients know rentmen even exists. Brand recognition is so crucial....

I agree. If I were the guys running the site I would be buying advertising on here and the lesser known reivew site and taking out full page ads in the gay papers and banner ads on their websites. RM is such a clean and easy site to get around on and again offers us guys more bang for our buck. They do very little editing to our profiles, allow us as far as I know unlimited videos and a direct link to our reviews. I hope the owners read this thread cause they really have a good thing going that could be the best if they advertise.

I noticed this feature and think it's a neat idea that allows escorts to view info about the client and what the client is looking for before deciding whether they're interested or not. Great time saver tool. It might not catch on though because most guys who are serious about hiring may prefer the discretion of email or a phone call instead of putting up a profile with a pic for escorts to respond to. I'm going to put up an ad on there some time soon.

I think you might be wasting your time and $$$ with A4A. I seriously doubt that most guys on there are looking to pay for either sex or a massage. I've checked out that site and quite honestly, I'd rather pay an escort that I'm physically attracted to than hook up for free with many of those dudes on there. Some of them are just creepy and weird, and others that I've talked to aren't really serious about meeting, they just want to cyber and jerk.

 

When you say you get responses, have these been serious inquiries that resulted in paid sessions or are they just contacting you to BS?

Of all the escort sites I've seen, RM has the best layout. I love the video feature. Unfortunately its not just clients who don't know about the site. Apparently, many escorts don't know about it either. I was surprised at how few ads they have on there compared to the other escort sites. And they haven't paid much attention to SEO for the site either, it doesn't come up anywhere near the top if you google 'male escort sites'.

I'll be leaving A4A once my current subscription expires on 12/26.....Too many time wasters.

It used to be a valuable tool when traveling, but lately it's not worth the effort or money. (I've gotten a few clients from it, but it's been awhile).

I agree about Rentmen as well.....GREAT site, well run & the customer service is unparalleled (as compared to Rentboy & (UGH) M4RN).

I've been getting hit up much more frequently by A4A members who are not using (and have never had) a Pro Ad wanting me to pay for their attention. I always tell them "I'm only generous when it is my idea."

I think Greg was talking about M4RN and their Wanted List is one of their best features. It does not entail the client posting a pic. The client profile consists only of stating their age, race, build and city. They do not have to list their phone number unless they wish. The rest of the information entered relates to the services and type of guy wanted. Escorts then respond via an IM that comes through as an email, but the escort does not have your email unless you respond to him.
