I was there for the first time last year. Would highly recommend the gay "but straight-friendly" Hotel Axel, I think it was, their Barcelona one is probably their nicest and the bar has great Mojitos. I was shocked at how the nightlife even in the gay areas even on the weekends died at 12 or 1 am. Well, the sauna works by entering, paying the fee, getting a towel or as undressed as you want (underwear ok) and heading to the lounge/bar area - they'll begin to gather.

They have rooms for quickies or you can talk and arrange off the premises I guess. A lot of escorts on gayromeo hang in the sauna, but not all. Like I said I was lucky because the one escort on that site I thought was gorgeous was actually at the sauna.

 

Re/ gay bars - near the Axel Hotel: they're full of (straight) local college age girls on Fri and Sat nights who are out to party and dance. The only exclusively "gay" venue I found there was the sauna.
